Barking Dog On Beat 2525, Premit Parking On Harding

Good morning, everyone, it's 9:43am. It's a sunny morning with temps in the mid 60s, and today will be in the upper 70s with sun. I'm monitoring 25 today, and I'm doing it from now until about 11am or so, then I'm taking a break until 7pm, at which time I'll return. I may also monitor 14 a bit this evening as well. Today starts the month-long celebration of Mexican Independence, and this evening I'll be keeping an eye on the celebrations. I know some of you won't agree with me doing this, as it may seem "racist", but truth be told I monitor just about all of the big celebrations in Chicago (I only didn't monitor the Bud parade on the South Side last month just because I had no idea when it was taking place). So let's just keep the safety of the neighborhood in mind as I monitor and as you read. Here's crime for this morning and this evening.

10:08am - Barking dog. On 2525's Beat.

10:15am - Parker. 1800 block of N Harding. Permits.

11:16am - I'm going to go until 7pm. I'll see you all then. Have a great start to your afternoon, everyone! :)

7:10pm - I'm back. Good evening, everyone.

7:34pm - Robbery. 18XX N Springfield. Group of Cobras in a black van just robbed the caller of their gold chain and cell phone.

7:56pm - Beat 2544 is at the 7:34pm job and is saying that the victim related to them that these Cobras were driving a black Chevy Trailblazer and that they fled north on Springfield towards Cortland. One had a gun. They robbed the victim of his cell phone and gold chain. There were about five of them in the car and they're still probably in the area.

8:09pm - Gang disturbance. Dickens and Lawndale.

8:33pm - Beat car 2524 is on a traffic stop at 4348 W Fullerton.

8:53pm - Battery in progress. Lawndale and Milwaukee. Group fighting by the liquor store.

8:58pm - Loud music disturbance. 18XX N Pulaski.

9:02pm - EMS run. 3638 W Fullerton. At the Taco restaurant. Male passed out in the bathroom.

9:21pm - Shots Fired. Wrightwood and Kostner. Five shots heard so far in the area.

9:22pm - Shots Fired. Kilbourn and Wrightwood. Five shots heard.

9:23pm - More calls coming in on the "Shots Fired", but it all sounds like it's going to be on 2521's Beat in the 4500 block of W Wrightwood.

9:47pm - Ticket of a "Person Shot" is coming over at OLR from the Kilbourn/Wrightwood incident.

9:51pm - Traffic accident. 16XX N Springfield.

10:04pm - The shooting over near Kelvyn Park is bona fide. 23 year old man shot in the lower leg. It happened in the coverage area, on 4400 block of W Wrightwood. Beat car 2521Robert is at the hospital with the victim. He says that he was sitting in his car at the first speed bump on Wrightwood west of Kostner when he was shot, so officers need to check for a crime scene over there.

10:17pm - No crime scene's been found at the shooting location.

10:39pm - 1) Commercial alarm. 4234 W Drummond. 2) Traffic accident. 4018 W Fullerton. 3) Person wanted. Wrightwood/Kostner. 4) Commercial alarm. 2529 N Pulaski.

10:47pm - Beat 2500, 25th District Commander, reports that the crowds from the celebrations are coming east on Fullerton, into our area. The epicenter of the celebrations is right near Fullerton and Kostner right now. The wagon's needed over there for crowd control. They've been acting up on Fullerton on 2515's and 2521's Beats for the last hour or so.

11:26pm - Battery in progress. 24XX N Tripp. People fighting.

12:00am - I'm going to go for the night. I'll be back tomorrow. Have a good night, everyone :).

Last night on about Albany and Armitage there were 4 or 5 police units looking all up and down the street for someone. Any idea what the call was?

@Want to see lots of cops? Next time there's gangbangers on your block, just say they have guns. That will bring them running.
