Good morning, everyone, it's 11:17am. Happy Labor Day to everyone. Hope all of you are enjoying this nice day with friends and family, having cookouts and what not. Today ends a lot of things here in Chicago. The beaches are closed after today for the remainder of the year, all Chicago Public Schools go back tomorrow, and a lot of festivities and events are over. To many here in the city, summer is over, even though we still officially have two and a half weeks left of the season. Today, I'm monitoring 25, and tomorrow, I will be on a special "Back-2-School" monitoring schedule for all of the CPS schools that go back tomorrow in 17 and 25, in addition to other Zones I'll be covering for my other blog. I'll be covering 14 in depth on Thursday. So with that, here's crime for today.
11:41am - Beat car 2525 is doing a park check at Mozart.
11:42am - Disturbance. 2001 N Pulaski. At the Marathon gas station, a male panhandling in front.
12:01pm - Beat car 2523 is at 3181 N Milwaukee Ave., the Shell gas station, doing some sort of investigation. He needs a Polish speaker since the person he's talking to only speaks Polish. Beat 2582Foot is willing to help, but it has to be done over the phone, as 2582F is in the station at this time.
12:14pm - Support unit request. 29XX N Ridgeway.
12:23pm - Beat 2562Adam needs an event number for an arrest at 3081 N Milwaukee Ave. Event number is 08230.
12:42pm - If anyone's wondering why I'm here on a Monday afternoon (I usually have class right now), the City Colleges of Chicago are closed today, so I'm off from class. I go back on Wednesday.
1:28pm - Gang disturbance. Armitage and Karlov. Ten or more of them on the street corner, causing problems.
2:00pm - Disturbance. 2550 N Pulaski. At the Marathon gas station. Male customer causing a problem.
2:08pm - Coming over from 14, but they have a 10-1 at Central Park and Palmer. 10-1 in 14 at Central Park/Palmer. According to the ticket Zone 3 sent over to Zone 12, Beat car 1434 is over there on a call, and there's a man trying to pull his taser away from him. All available units in 15 and 25 are being advised to head over, as well as units in 13 and 14. So far, Beat cars 2524 and 2534 are headed over, as well as Beats 2544 and 2562Eddie.
2:09pm - Multiple units are still on the way to the 10-1 at Central Park/Palmer. Sounds like a real bad situation. Hope the officer is okay.
2:10pm - A couple of units are trying to come over the air to talk, but Dispatch rudely cuts them off, telling them to "stop talking!". She doesn't want any units coming on the air until an update or slow down is given from the 10-1.
2:11pm - The slow down is being given on both Zones. Per Beat car 1422 on Zone 3, and per Beat 6753 on Zone 12. The officer is okay.
2:12pm - A total disregard is being given. Everyone's fine, and the offender is in custody.
2:33pm - Beat 2583 is doing his usual afternoon foot patrol on the 4400 block of W Diversey.
2:37pm - Vice complaint. Milwaukee and Monticello. Males drinking in the parking lot.
3:16pm - Person down. Central Park and Oakdale. Man down.
3:23pm - EMS run. 22XX N Monticello.
4:10pm - I have to go for a little while. I'll be back a bit later.
5:00pm - I'm back. Good afternoon, everyone.
6:03pm - Suspicious person. Barry/Harding/Springfield. Two males lurking around the area.
6:50pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.

8:41pm - 1) Gang disturbance. Kilbourn and Diversey. Group throwing up signs. 2) Narcotics. Schubert and Kilbourn. Selling.
8:44pm - 2583 is coding out Kilbourn/Diversey. No one's out there.
8:47pm - Suspicious person. Springfield and Armitage.
9:00pm - I'm going to go for the night. I'll be back in the morning. Have a good night, everyone, and be safe!
