Battery Report At McAufflie School

Good morning, everyone, it's 8:54am. Bit of a chilly morning we've got out there. And it's not going to get much warmer. It'll only be 50 degrees today. Anyway, I don't have to report to school until noon due to testing, but I'll be leaving here at 10:30. Then, tomorrow, I have to be at school by 10:39, so I'll be leaving here right before 9:30. It's so cool that school is on this schedule, it gives me a little more time to do what I want. But, yeah, here's crime for a part of this morning and this afternoon/evening.

8:59am - Battery report. 1841 N Springfield. At the McAufflie school. A student was battered yesterday.

9:25am - Beat 2506Charlie asks for a SOB Burglary mission on the 20 sector. Event number is 04731.

9:41am - Traffic accident. Pulaski and Wellington. Injuries.

10:32am - Ok, I'm going to school. I'll be back at 4:44pm. Have a great late morning/early afternoon, everyone!

4:44pm - I'm back. Good afternoon, everyone.

6:07pm - I'm going to go for the night. I'll be back tomorrow morning. See you all then, and be safe. There were no calls, by the way.

Kids fighting at school? What's the big deal? Kids have been fighting at school for years. Folks today are just too soft, not fit to wear their grandpa's pants.

What's the big deal, anonymous 9:23? I don't know, you tell me. How would you like to go to school and try to get an education all the while you've got kids fighting over petty bullshit? And, have you ever thought that maybe some kids don't want to fight back, that maybe they're doing the right thing by telling an adult? That's what's so fucked up about the youth these days (and I'm one myself, imagine that), they always want to fight and when someone doesn't take their crap, they're ready to get all ghetto. Ugh. Can't wait until I graduate out of CPS next year.

Look out Timmy, looks like you've got another troll on your hands, just writing baiting comments in order to derail the blog and your good work.

Yep, todays kids along with their parents have become whimps nowadays. Back in the old days you would have your son defend himself, now you go cry to the school office about your whimpy kids troubles.

Anonymous 9:54, I disagree. Especially with kids defending theirselves. It still happens, and I say that from seeing it at school. They NEVER go to an adult about their problems with someone else. Which I think is dumb. I think all problems should be reported to an adult so the situation doesn't escalate. You've seen how kids have gotten killed over dumb stuff, right? That's because they just kept going back and forth with the nonsense they were fighting about with the other kid. However, if you do get attacked at school (more or less for no reason), I believe that you do need to defend yourself. If I ever get attacked, that's what I'm doing, and if it gets me arrested too, so be it.

Anonymous 8:36, your comment is uncalled for. And I'm deleting it. There's no reason for you to be attacking overweight (I don't use the word fat unless I'm mad at an overweight person) people. They've got their reasons why they're overweight, and most of those aren't their fault.

eat less, work more = healthy body and mind.

eat more, work less = unhealthy body and self pitying mind.

everything within a person's internal control is that person's responsibility, and thus, that person's fault, if that person's choices, within their control, result in an unhealthy body and self pitying mind.

there is a difference between reasons and excuses.

But how about people who are handicapped and/or can't work?

of all the physically handicapped people i've known, few, if any, allowed themselves to be additionally handicapped by self pity and most worked hard at being as physically and mentally healthy as possible.

'fault' is an overused and counterproductive word, because the common reaction to being accused of being 'at fault' is to find a 'reason' that will 'excuse' said 'fault'.

a more constructive way of thinking is 'cause and effect'.

'work' is not limited to earning a wage from an employer.

'work' can also be understood as activity producing constructive results.

most every 'handicapped' person i've known has reacted to his/her 'handicap' by striving/working/engaging their body/mind/spirit in some type of productive activity.

no matter what one's personal, physical, or mental condition, one either tries to turn lemons into lemonade, or settles for the sour taste of sucking on lemon rinds.

the choice is always an individual one.

Kids today are just lazy, that's why they're fat. They play their playstations, X-boxes and various other game systems instead of going out and do real stuff. Also feed on fast food and soda pop.

10:14/12:22, I can't say that I disagree, because I don't. That is actually the case with 75% of the handicapped people I come in contact with daily.
