Barking Dog On Fairfield, Volkswagen Blocks Alley @ Cortland/Spaulding

Good morning, everyone, it's 8:14am. It's a mostly cloudy with temps in the lower 40s, and today will be in the upper 50s with sunshine. Pretty warm for early November. Tomorrow's going to be around 70, though, so that's nothing compared to today. I'm monitoring 14 today for all of you, and will be monitoring 25 tomorrow. Here's crime for today.


8:17am - Barking dog. 18XX N Fairfield.

8:30am - Parker. Cortland and Spaulding. Red Volkswagen with a plate of 669833 is blocking the alley on Cortland between Spaulding and Kimball.

8:31am - Parker. On 1412's Beat.

8:32am - DUI driver. Damen and Fullerton. At the car wash. Black Nissan with a plate of P884210 has a drunk woman in it at the wheel, there's a child in the car.

8:40am - Theft report. 27XX W Wellington. Car was broken into, this is the 3rd time it's happened.

8:52am - Beat car 1411 is asking for a call back on the 8:40am job. Dispatch says there's no call back since the phone with this person's kid, who's at school now.

8:54am - An RD number is being pulled from the 8:40am job. It's HV554209 with the event number of 03432. I guess 1411 found the victim.

9:07am - Beat car 1412 is doing a park check at Unity.

9:09am - Beat 1441 is doing a CTA check at the California Blue Line station.

9:46am - Parker. 1656 N Western. Gray older model Mercedes is blocking the sidewalk for two weeks.

9:47am - Beats 1430 and 1471 are heading over to Fullerton and the Kennedy Expressway to help the City remove the squatters that reside under the Expressway.

9:49am - Beat 1455 is at the 9:46am job, and the car's actually at 2413 W Wabansia. It's in front of the auto shop, on the driveway, and there's a path to the sidewalk. Coded 6Paul.

10:01am - 1430 needs a State Police officer over there. Dispatch's calling them now.

10:02am - Dispatch just got off the phone with State Police and they'll send someone over.

10:03am - Beat car 1422 is doing a CTA check at the Western Blue Line station.

10:10am - EMS run. 2260 N Elston. Man slumped over the wheel of a red van with a plate of P292917 with the engine running.

10:21am - Commercial alarm. 2500 N Milwaukee Ave. At the Crown Jewelry.

10:28am - Municipal ordinance violation. 34XX W Belden. Construction workers just put in a new fire hydrant and someone's there messing with it now.

10:33am - Beat car 1413 is on scene at the 10:28am job and the cap is missing, but no one's around.

10:44am - 1) Commercial alarm. 2931 N Milwaukee Ave. 2) Disturbance. Elston and Fullerton. Man in the street, aggressively panhandling. He's banging on cars as they wait in traffic.

10:49am - Theft. On 1421's Beat. Two males broke into the caller's green 2-door Honda Civic. Dispatch didn't give an address.

11:00am - They're calling back on the 10:21am job.

11:03am - Beat 1463Adam.is taking two in from the California Blue Line. 1412 is transporting for them.

11:16am - Reckless driver. Wabansia and Honore. Street cleaning truck almost hit a citizen crossing the street, last seen headed on Wabansia towards Wolcott.

11:17am - An RD number is being pulled from 1463A's thing. It's HV554495 with the event number of 05903.


11:40am - Beat 6750 is executing a search warrant at 35XX W Lyndale. Event number is 06516 and the console time is 11:40. 1422 is on scene also.

11:50am - Battery. Rockwell and Wabansia. Caller's 1 year old and 9 year old were attacked by a group of other children with rocks and other weapons, adults were at the scene but allowed the attack to occurr. This happened yesterday, too.

11:55am - Beat car 1421 is asking for a call back on the 11:50am job. No one's out there so far.

11:56am - Dispatch called the 11:50am person back and now they're giving an address on the 1700 block of N. Rockwell, they're standing in front of there. The caller's sister is also on the corner to make sure the police don't drive by them.

12:04pm - Beat car 1431 is doing a premise check at the Logan Square Library, 3030 W Fullerton. Event number is 06957.

12:11pm - The 11:50am job is a 2Paul. 1421 talked to the parents of both parties and they'll teach their children right from wrong.

12:15pm - Disturbance. Armitage and the Kennedy. Female by the ramp of the Kennedy Expressway, begging for money.

12:19pm - 1422 needs another officer or two to meet them at the back door of 14. The guy they took in from the search warrant is really unruly. 1471 is going to meet them.

12:42pm - 6750 is relocating into 14 from the search warrant.

12:57pm - Some call in the area.

1:25pm - Sex offense. 1701 N Milwaukee Ave. At the Bucktown-Wicker Park. Male in the back of the 1st floor is playing with himself.

1:29pm - Beat 1463David is taking one in from the 1:25pm job, needs a transport car. Beat car 1431 is coming over.

1:40pm - Gang disturbance. Fairfield and North Ave. Two males throwing bottles at passing vehicles.

1:47pm - Disturbance. Diversey and California. Five to six boys on skateboards, in and out of traffic.

1:51pm - Beat 1463Boy is doing a post-shooting mission on 1412's Beat. Event number is 09037.

1:52pm - Disturbance. 1839 N Richmond. At the Yates school. Group of boys playing basketball in the teacher's parking lot, I guess blocking the lot.

2:09pm - Assault in progress. 21XX N Kedzie. Caller's dad is being threatened by the tenants.

2:34pm - Information for the CPD. 3136 W Belden. At the Darwin school. Student had a toy gun on them, administration retrieved it and now they want to talk to CPD about it.

2:35pm - Disturbance. 1757 N Milwaukee Ave. At the Aidi. Male harassing customers.

2:59pm - Disturbance. 17XX N Honore. Something about a veteran.

3:18pm - Traffic accident. 2318 N California. Hit-and-run.

3:30pm - Beat car 1423 is coding out the 3:18pm job as an 18Boy. No one's on scene.

3:47pm - EMS run. 2246 N Milwaukee Ave. Someone was using the bathroom and hit their head.

3:50pm - 1) Loud music disturbance. 27XX N Artesian. 2) Information for the CPD. Sacramento and Palmer. Tire on a car fell off. 3) Disturbance. North and St. Louis. Group of kids loitering by the school, caller says they should be in school too. No teachers or parents present.

3:52pm - Beat 1410 is coding out the Sacramento/Palmer job as a 19P.

3:55pm - 1463A has a traffic stop from a gang funeral at 3214 W Armitage.

4:00pm - Reckless driver. Kedzie and Fullerton. Male in a white Toyota with a plate of N417520 was seen five minutes ago driving towards Spaulding, taking pictures at the wheel.

4:03pm - Suspicious person. 25XX N Spaulding. Male White with a white jacket and orange baseball cap is on the west side of the street, looking into cars. He's headed towards Wrightwood.

4:04pm - 1463B is doing a CTA check at the Logan Square Blue Line station. Event number is 11484.

4:09pm - Suspicious person. 1937 N Damen. Three male Blacks, one with a white puffy jacket and jewelry a second one with a black jacket, with no description on the third, are in and out of the store at this location, trying to distract the clerk and look in the back. The second guy was seen fleeing towards Cortland on Damen.

4:10pm - The guy from the 4:03pm job was last seen at Milwaukee on Spaulding, per 1463B, who's on scene.

4:17pm - 1) Disturbance. 20XX N Spaulding. Problem with the neighbors. 2) Traffic accident. Medill and Central Park. Cab struck the caller's car, hit-and-run.

4:22pm - Beat car 1413 is saying that the Medill/Central Park accident is on 25's side. Dispatch will send the call over to Zone 12.

4:32pm - Open door. 29XX W Dickens. Neighbor's garage door is open and no one's answering.

4:36pm - Beat 1405 is doing a park check at Simons. Event number is 12091.

4:39pm - 1413 is being detailed, for now, to the gang funeral on Armitage per Beat 1401. It lets out around 5, and there's quite a few of them on scene already.

4:44pm - Parker. On 1433's Beat.

4:52pm - Burglary report. On 1412's Beat.

4:53pm - 1) Disturbance. 32XX W Armitage. Problem with some squatters refusing to leave. 2) Disturbance. California and Bloomingdale. Large group of people loitering near the Bloomingdale Trail in a vacant lot.

5:01pm - They're calling back at the 4:53pm Armitage job. It's a criminal trespass in progress now. Caller is also requesting a supervisor.

5:06pm - Suspicious vehicle. Armitage and Damen. Black truck is supposedly "broke down" per three males on scene, and they're not leaving.

5:09pm - Sex offense. Unity Park. Naked guy just got done masturbating in the park.

5:12pm - Beat 1463David is doing a robbery mission on 1434's Beat. Event number is 12749.

5:16pm - The wake on Armitage is actually until 7. 1413 is just going to do a special attention on it for now.

5:22pm - Barking dog. 1642 W North Ave.


5:40pm to 6:00pm - I think I missed a call or two in the area, but if I did, they weren't anything major.

6:06pm - 1410 wants Beat car 1411 and Beat 1471 to meet him by the Monument near Kedzie and Logan Blvd. They're going on some sort of mission.

6:12pm - Parker. On 1412's Beat.

6:25pm - Some call on Churchill.

6:39pm - Burglar alarm. 28XX W Shakespeare.

7:12pm - 1) Traffic accident. 1700 N Ashland. 2) Suspicious person. Cortland and Whipple. 3) Some other call in the area.

7:14pm - Panic alarm. 25XX N Drake. Residential.

7:15pm - Beat 1465Adam is working on an attempted robbery from 1648 W North Ave. An RD number is being pulled, and it's HV555182 with the event number of 14396.

7:18pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.

7:57pm - Beat 1400, 14th District Commander, is asking for an event number for a gang supression mission on 1422's Beat. Event number is 15830.

8:36pm - 1) Barking dog. 26XX N St. Louis. 2) Reckless driver. 1852 W North Ave.

8:42pm - I'm really tired, so I'm going to go for the night. I'll be back in the morning with 25. I'll monitor 14 from now until midnight at this time tomorrow. Good night, everyone.

Timmy, I hope everything is okay. Your sleep schedule seems to be irregular at times. Waking up at 3AM is not good.

I agree with anonymous. How's it going, Tim? I haven't heard from you regarding my emails, and I don't want to be bugging you if you're too busy -- or sleep deprived!
