Are you going to these beat meetings too?

Nope. I'm only going to Beat meetings in our neighborhood unless I get multiple requests to appear at other Beat meetings, and even if I did, there are some areas in Chicago I simply won't go through. This is one of them.

Seriously?!?

This area is no worse than Logan Square/Avondale.
I don't fully know what your aspirations are, young man, but if you're afraid to move about your own city, you have lost already.

Yes, seriously. My aspirations about this community are that it has SIX (yeah, count 'em, SIX) gangs all within at least two blocks of each other. Even where I am doesn't have that. I'm not going to go through all of those gangs' area to get shot at. And that applies for some other areas in the city as well. I'm not going to risk my life more than I already do. I risk it enough where I live.

Besides, I have too many meetings and obligations on my schedule already as it is.

Logan Square has more crime than Pilsen. Just because there's six gangs together makes it a war zone, I'm pretty sure there's more shootings, murders, and drug deals in Logan Square. I been to Pilsen daytime and nighttime and it's less skecthy than your hood. Hell the wave of gentrification went way better in Pilsen than in Logan Square, now if Pilsen was worser than Logan Square gentrification would of failed, like how it's plumenting in Logan Square.

Pilsen has more crime. They just don't call the police for every little thing like those in Logan Square. People in Pilsen don't need the police for their troubles.

Anonymous 7:35, it's funny, because I would listen to Zone 13 at times last summer and I often heard calls of gangbangers acting up and a couple of shootings to occur right in Plisen there. Having said that, I doubt all of Plisen is bad, but if I ever do have to go to Plisen, I will have my guard up and there will be some intersections I stay away from.

bobbo, that's something I can agree with.

Babbo doesn't live in Pilsen!

I live in Pilsen and the comments here are true about how most people here in Pilsen don't call police about gangs. We are tired of calling police for the same locations and most are public parks. The Police stats I read are all down played.
