Crime blotter for September 23, 2009

Good morning, everyone, it's 5:27am. Today is going to be a nice day with highs in the 70s. My class is going on it's first field trip of the year, but I'm not attending, because my classes come first. Anyway, I just read an article, which was kind of written not so good, about a man found bound and gagged in an alley on the 18th in the 2600 block of N Whipple. That's crazy. Also, I'm only going to be here for this morning. I'm attending a Beat meeting tonight, and due to homework, I decided just not to blog this afternoon, so here's crime for this morning before I go.

6:31am - Domestic disturbance. 1609 N Avers. Boyfriend is refusing to leave.

6:38am - Beat car 2534 is asking for a call back on the 6:31am job. Update, at 6:39am - It went to voice mail.

6:40am - I have to go. Have a great day, everyone. I'll be back tomorrow.

9:33pm - I went to Beat 2523's meeting tonight. It was really good. I wish more people would've came, however. It felt good listening to people's concerns.

Hello, anonymous 1:03pm. I live on Beat 2523, which covers north of Diversey to Belmont, and from Killbourn to Central Park.

The local CAPS meeting is at 3160 N Milwaukee, tonight at 7pm, if you live on Beat 2523.

I stay on Ridgeway near Diversey.

do you watch law&order:svu? there's a character on the episode tonight who does neighborhood crime surveying from his home. maybe they were inspired by your blog? :>

keep up the good work...i'm going to try to go to my local beat meeting soon (bucktown/logan square).

unrelated to your topic today, i just wanted to let you know that the word of your blog is really spreading. i just met someone new to chicago recently, and she was asking about crime in my neighborhood (wrightwood and central park area) and i told her all the crime i knew of i learned on your blog. she already totally knew about you (she lives in wicker park) and your whole blog, so be assured that people pay attention to what you're saying! keep up the good work! (and by the way, i'm glad you're back on blogger.)

akilduff, I've only seen a few minutes of it a couple of times. I'm never really up after 9pm anymore since school started. And that'd be cool if they were inspired by the blog :).

annie, it sounds like that word is spreading about it. Now even people in Wicker Park are finding out about it :). Also, I'm glad to be back on Blogger too.
