Too Much Noise On Avers

Good morning, everyone, it's 5:59am. Today, I head to school for yet another day. I wonder what'll happen. Anyway, I will be taking tomorrow off from school since the juniors are testing (I'm a sophomore) and there's only two hours of school scheduled for the rest of the school. I just don't see the point of getting up early, getting on the bus and sitting around not doing much for nearly 6 hours. I'd just rather be here. I will go on Friday, though. Here is crime before I leave this morning and for this afternoon/evening.

6:17am - Disturbance. 2416 N Avers. Neighbors on the 1 making too much noise.

6:40am - I have to go. I'll be back later. Have a great day, everyone.

3:09pm - I'm back. Good afternoon.

3:28pm - Disturbance. 3121 N Milwaukee. At Red Apple. Drunk guy is refusing to leave the laundromat.

About 4:05 to 4:47pm - I fell asleep. Sorry.

4:55pm - A van just sped away from a unit at George and Pulaski, heading west at a high rate of speed. It's white in color.

5:35pm - 1) Traffic accident. 2214 N Avers. Two cars. Disturbance on scene. 2) Narcotics. On 2525's Beat.

5:42pm - The 2214 Avers is coded 18Paul. It's drivable and there's no dispute on scene.

6:07pm - Person calling for help. 1800 block of N Hamlin. Cell tower hits off there. A female was screaming hysterically into the phone.

6:38pm - Domestic disturbance. 3608 W Shakespeare. Problem with the wife.

6:43pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.

7:00pm - I'm back.

7:04pm - Shots Fired. Wrightwood and Monticello. Several heard. The 14th District had a window shot out at 3555 W Wrightwood.

7:13pm - The 7:04pm job is a 14th District job. Bona fide. A window was shot at 3555 W Wrightwood. Beat 1445 will handle the job. There may have also been a "Shots Fired" within the 2500 block of N Central Park.

7:31pm - I had a comment with someone saying that a young male Hispanic ran from Monticello on Wrightwood after the gunshots. He had on either a sliver or a black jacket. He fled towards Lawndale.

7:34pm - Assault. Belden and Lawndale. Gangbangers threatened the caller from a van, and possibly chased them (I wasn't in the room at the time and I didn't really catch everything). This is from an earlier incident.

7:45pm - Wanted from the 7:34pm job is a grey minivan with a red stripe on it. The incident occurred at about Monticello and Palmer. This incident is related to the Shots Fired on Wrightwood.

7:49pm - A "Sam" unit has a traffic stop at 3525 W Palmer. A plate is being ran.

7:54pm - An RD number has been pulled from the 7:34pm job. It's HS150058 with the event number of 14188. The incident was actually a "simple" battery.

8:11pm - Assault in progress. George and Pulaski. Two women getting followed by some guy in a red car.

8:24pm - The 7:34pm caller is calling back. Those gangbangers just came back and tried to hit them again.

9:02pm - Beat 2562Adam has a stop at 4100 W Fullerton.

9:03pm - Cage car needed at the 9:02pm stop. Somebody's going over.

9:09pm - Fire run. 2843 N Kildare. Forced entry needed.

9:44pm - Assault. 2238 N Keystone. Male threatened to burn down the house and he's on the way.

10:31pm - I've finished my run of crime blogging for the night. I'll be back at 9am tomorrow. Good night, folks.

Oh that was me! I deleted it by accident! I do wonder however if that kid I saw was just running cause he was scared, but we're at the corner of Wrightwood & Monticello and it sounded like those shots fired were right outside our building. Crazy. Cope all over the place. Wonder if this was, like you said, a multiple incident shooting....

It's ok. Accidents happen :). Anyway, that would be nice if the kid was just running if he was scared, but unfortuanely, I'm really thinking he had something to do with it.

I'll have to monitor the area on the radio for the remainder of the night.

I'm pretty new to the area and have been following your blog for the past month or so. Is this amount of gun-related activity pretty common for logan square? Seems like there's been a fair amount of shots fired reports in the last few weeks.

Anonymous, sorry to say, but gunfire in Logan Square can be considered pretty common, but mostly in the summer time. However, obviously since it's winter at the moment, I would have to say, all of this gunfire must be from gangs who are mad at each other and looking to hurt/kill each other. That's when you'll see lots of gunfire, when there's a big gang rivalry going on.

It also depends on where you live in Logan Square. Some parts get gunfire more often than others.
