Last post on Blogger/new blog

Good morning, everyone. This is my last post on Blogger. My new blog will be up and running by this afternoon. It's been great being here on Blogger, earning all of my readers and commenters over the past six or seven months. But, it's time to move on to bigger and better things. Altough, If I have a hard time learning about this site or anything by next month, the owner said I could return here. The new blog I'll be on is Windy Citizen, a great site for Chicagoans. On this site, you can read stories, vote on them, etc. and they're about Chicago.

re: june 13 post on windy city-
i'm just not interested in signing up for yet another account. i'm web-weary that way- too many passwords/account names etc to remember. i appreciate what you do a great deal and read you every day. thank you.

I'm sorry to hear that, but sooner or later, once I got to know most of my readers, I was planning on making comments "un-anonymous" anyway. I want to know the people who read this blog. But, if you truly don't want to sign up for another account, thus remaining anonymous, fine by me.

I've made my decision. I'm transfering back here starting the 27th.

Roger P, all I see is a hate blog about Tom Mannis. But, I really don't care. I don't know him.

2251 n lawndale fire on 7/15 is a parsonage for the church on the corner of belden and lawndale. i am even more sad now that i know it was deliberately set.

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

So it IS a part of that church. I thought it was separate. It's bad enough that it was set by someone, but now I'm really shocked to find out someone could do that to a church.

Welcome back, you were missed. Can you explain the meaning behind codes such as '19Boy' or '5Ocean'? They seem significant. Also, with respect to the 5:24 post on 7/23, is there any way to know if this person is still wanted? Have seen him around, infrequently.

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

19Boy means that no person was found from a misc. incident and 5Ocean means that there was a disturbance on the street and the officer advised the complaint to get legal help.

Martin Lugo is still wanted. Actually, he just commited another shooting yesterday, in that same area around Dickens and Kenneth. Yesterday, he had on black clothing again, according to scanner reports.

Thanks so much for your dedicated work. I read your blog often to keep up with what's happening, so I can keep an eye out too. I always miss it if you're away. If you know of a link or somewhere where I can find 'translations' of the codes like '19Charlie' etc please let me know.

19Charlie means "other misc. incident, no address found", anonymous 9:26pm. Also, thanks for your comment :-). I apprieacte it.

Here is what the other codes mean: What The Codes Mean

Hi ALSCB, you've been doing really detailed posts lately, and I appreciate it. Does it ever get to you? Sometimes people in law enforcement see so much crime that everyone becomes a criminal, and I don't think that's happening to you, but a gentle reminder that there are good people in this neighborhood too can help lift spirits, and maybe calm some fear. I hope you will be able to maintain your anonymity. If gang bangers don't want their crimes broadcast on the police scanner, they shouldn't do them. You may write them down on a blog, but somebody else saw them and called it in - there are lots of people watching, and maybe more people report because they read your blog. For your safety, only write what you hear on the scanner, and don't write about activity near your home that's not broadcast on the scanner.

Hello :). I think it does get to me sometimes, knowing there are so many crimes committed and bad people out here (though I guess I can still figure out who's good and who's bad).

I know that there are good people around here :). I still see them alot. It's another reason why I won't move out of here (even though my family wants to, badly), because I want to be one of the good people who stay here and make this a better neighborhood.

I also hope I get to remain anonymous, as long as I live with my family and as long as I'm a minor.

You're right, if they don't want their stuff broadcasted on police radio, then they shouldn't do the stuff they do. Further more, I'm not really understanding why they (the gangbangers) get mad at bloggers if we're just writing this stuff down. That's really all I'm doing.

After last night's incident (I had to make a call but didn't write down for my safety), if I see any activity on this block that's not heard on the scanner, I'm not writing it down. I'm sorry for any readers who liked knowing the kind of stuff I saw, but I'm not about to risk my family's safety for anything I'm writing. If I living alone and were an adult, fine, I wouldn't really care if they knew it was me, but I'm not so I will remain anonymous as much as I can.

I would just like to say I appreciate what you are doing. I just moved to the area on the 3700 block of Fullerton and find it sad at time the violence that I have witnessed in this immediate area. I'm just glad that there are people out there wanting to make a difference by making this infomation more availiable to others. Thanks

Mike

Mike, no problem. I like bringing this information to everyone. Unfortunely, Fullerton has somewhat of a history of violence. The 3700 block has been like that for some time now.
