Good morning, everyone, it's 12:00am. Late last night has been crazy (in other areas, at least), and it's spilling into right now. They've got a, what sounds like, 10-1 at Potomac and Mason. Big crowd is on the street. All available units are being requested. And then police on viewed Shots Fired at Altgeld and Lockwood. Wow. Anyway, today is my mom's birthday, so I'll probably be gone for a time period to get her a gift and to celebrate her birthday :). Here is crime for today.

12:26 to 12:34am - The crowds on the west side are at again. Augusta and Austin for a very big fight. Potomac and Mason also acting up again.

12:37am - Domestic Battery. Belmont and Milwaukee. Complainant is running from the abusive husband. With that, I'm done with coverage for tonight. Good night :).

9:30am - I'm back. Good morning :).

9:57am - Beat car 2515 has a station assignment to 4014 W Armitage.

10:11am - Domestic disturbance. 2739 N Lawndale. 15 yr old son is throwing stuff off the porch.

10:26am - Someone's got a stop at 2236 N Central Park.

10:27am - Person down. 3066 N Davlin. Female.

10:38am - Beat car 2535 needs an assist car at 1920 N Harding. She's got a gangbanger stopped in the alley.

10:58am - Sex offense. 1917 N Pulaski. Group of males using the alley as the bathroom.

11:24am - Beat car has a parker on the Beat.

11:29am - Domestic disturbance. 2817 N Harding.

11:48am - Criminal damage. 3094 N Milwaukee.

11:49am - Person w/ a knife. 3107 N Haussen. Male White, black hat and shirt, and blue jeans, pulled out a '12 inch knife when the complaint told him to move on.

11:55am - 1) Child abuse. 3738 W McLean. Complainant hears the parents beating on a kid somewhere in the buliding. 2) Vicious animal. 3137 N Harding. The dog chased the daughter to a door.

12:09pm - Beat 2520 needs another car at 3129 N Harding.

12:11pm - Someone's got a handwaver at 3088 N Milwaukee regarding the 11:48am job.

12:12pm - The 11:49am job is coded 5Paul.

12:40pm - Burglary. 2649 N Kildare. One of the workers let someone in and they took off with something.

12:52pm - Wanted from the 12:40pm job is a male Hispanic, 20s, 6 feet tall, 170 lbs and white t-shirt. He was last seen going north on Kildare.

1:59pm - Recover stolen auto. 2946 N Avers.

2:17pm - A Gang or Tac unit had a stop at Palmer and Keystone but will now be taking one in.

2:18pm - An RD number, for "1811" (which is narcotics; weed), has been pulled from the 2:17pm stop. It's HR533245 with the event number of 12024.

2:35pm - Beat car 2525 asks for a Burglary SOB mission on the Beat.

2:40pm - Disturbance. 3160 N Milwaukee. Male causing a ruckus in front of the center.

3:18pm - Person w/ a gun. Kedvale and Dickens. Something about a male in a green shirt with a blue car having a gun.

3:21pm - A slow down is given at the 3:18pm job.

3:23pm - Traffic accident. Wellington and Pulaski. One driver's trying to flee the scene.

3:26pm - Two male Blacks, 5'8, one with a red t-shirt and one with a grey t-shirt are walking towards Harding on Wellington from the 3:23pm accident. They're the alleged offenders.

3:44pm - Criminal trespass in progress. Monroe School. In the south parking lot, the gate is open and several cars are in the lot.

3:50pm - The 3:44pm job is coded 19David. There were just two little kids playing with some sort of remote. Really? With the problems that have been going on in that area for 4 days now, I'd say it's a little more serious. But oh well.

4:14pm - Loud music disturbance. 2911 N Konster. From the garage.

4:15pm - Criminal damage. 3900 W Diversey. Male is spray painting cars and dust is flying everywhere.

4:23pm - Battery in progress. 2400 N Konster. Three ladies fighting with sticks.

4:48pm - Beat 2580Charlie is assigned to Fullerton Avenue from Austin to Central Park for a while. Usually, they're assigned to North Avenue, but there's celebrations tonight along Fullerton, and there's already been several incidents of violence (mainly west of the coverage area) on Fullerton.

4:52pm - Beat car 2525 is getting a loud music disturbance on PDT.

4:58pm - Disturbance. 4041 W Parker. 3 males in the alley, drinking.

5:09pm - EMS run. 3067 N Avers. Intoxicated male passed out by the garage.

5:29pm - Person w/ a gun. Hamlin and Wrightwood. Two male Hispanics on bikes with red shirts are going towards Schubert. They've got guns.

5:44pm - Gang disturbance. Belmont and Pulaski. Male Hispanic in a white van with a possible plate of 2958091 is going eastbound, flashing signs. This call came out at 17:32 (5:32pm) hours.

5:54pm - Disturbance. 2943 N Konster. Five males drinking in the alley.

6:09pm - Suspicious vehicle. 2421 N Harding. Two males, one with a red shirt and one in a grey shirt, are in a tan vehicle. Complainant suspects the males were being chased by police.

6:11pm - Assault in progress. 2134 N Pulaski. Tenants that were kicked out 8 days ago are back, with extra people.

6:47pm - Battery in progress. Belmont and Central Park. Six males beating on a little kid.

6:53pm - Battery in progress. Milwaukee and Central Park. Six male teens, one with a red shirt and the others with white tees are beating on one youth. Also, a different complainant reports that those same teens chased their car.

7:09pm - Criminal damage in progress. Schubert and Avers. Group of teens getting on top of a truck and hitting it with pipes, damaging it.

7:18pm - Battery in progress. 3130 N Monticello. Several tickets coming in. Gangbangers are beating an elderly male on the street. There are descriptions, including a male with a red shirt, white shirt, no shirt, etc.

8:20pm - Assault in progress. 3084 N Milwaukee. Complainant, who is hostile and ended up hanging up, is allegedy getting harased.

8:57pm - Loud music disturbance. 2137 N Springfield.

9:11pm - Assault in progress. Central Park and Dickens. Group of males chasing other males with bottles.

9:27pm - Domestic disturbance. 2100 N Central Park. 20 yr old boyfriend went in.

9:39pm - Beat car 2523 is getting more music disturbances on the PDT.

10:00pm hour - Didn't pay attention. Sorry.

11:02pm - Battery in progress. 1919 N Hamlin. Couple beating each other up.

11:16pm - Robbery. 3636 W North. Female robbed at gun point.

11:23pm - Commerical alarm. 3607 W Fullerton. At Tony's. General motion.

11:26pm - Beat 2550 is requesting back-up on the 11:16pm job.

11:27pm - A slow down is being given on North.

11:39pm - I don't know what exactly what's going on here, but sounds like the Shell gas station at 3181 N Milwaukee was just held up. Alot of calls coming in for this. Original tickets say two males were fighting in the gas station. Then, a third person came on. This all sounds very confusing.

Panic alarm on Killbourn

Good morning, everyone, it's 6:05am. Today is excepted to be another warm day with a high of 80 today. And since it's Friday, things are probably going to pop off this afternoon/evening. Anyway, in the 4 or 5pm hour this afternoon, I'm taking a nap so I can stay up until at least midnight or 1am since it's the weekend. So, here is crime before I leave this morning and for this afternoon/evening.

5:19am - Panic alarm. 3111 N Killbourn.

5:28am - Commerical alarm. 4030 W Wrightwood. At Aldi's.

6:02am - Beat car 2535 is doing a premise check at 1747 N. Springfield, the pumping station.

6:13am - I forgot about this, but today is also 9/11. 8 years have gone by since that tragic day. So, out of respect for vitcims, loved ones, etc., I just took a moment of slience (as did the radio). I'm asking all readers to please observe today with a moment of slience, if you can.

3:51pm - Violation order of protection. 2440 N Central Park. Someone with an order against them is outside right now.

4:00pm - I'm going to take a nap until 5:00pm. I'll be back.

4:47pm - I'm back earlier than excepted. Anyway, Beat car 2521 had a traffic stop at 2500 N Avers and will be taking in a TBD now.

4:51pm - Disturbance. 3067 N Avers. 6 to 7 males drinking.

4:57pm - The 4:51pm job is coded. The males are moving along.

5:09pm - Criminal damage. Barry and Haussen. Couple of males tagged the building on the corner.

5:15pm - Disturbance. 3840 W Wabansia.

5:31pm - WTH is up with this corner lately? This is the THIRD day in a row for police being called regarding gangbangers at Wrightwood and Lawndale. There's 10 of them acting rowdy with sticks. Someone's going to get shot sooner or later with the way they're acting up over there.

5:43pm - This didn't take long. Anyway, there is a call of a fight coming in at the Monroe School parking lot, Wrightwood and Monticello. 15 males are fighting with bats and sticks. Beat car 2524 says they were just over there but will go back.

5:53pm - Beat 2504AdamBoy is doing park check at Kelyvn.

5:57pm - Reckless driver. Armitage and Central Park. A car with a plate of X192450 is speeding westbound. This person resides on Latrobe on 2515's Beat.

6:18pm - Beat 2504AB is doing a park check at Koz.

6:19pm - Gang disturbance. Ken-Well Park. They're having a meeting with general gangbang stuff included. Also, Beat 2504AB is running a name over at Koz.

6:22pm - Battery in progress. Schubert and Springfield. People fighting in the park. Wait, hold on a second. 2504AB is at the park right now. I think if they saw something, they would've reported it to dispatch. Or maybe nothing's going on.

9:05pm - 1) Domestic disturbance. 3110 N Lawndale. 2) Battery in progress. 3748 W Diversey. Male beating female in basement. 3) Disturbance in coverage area. 4) Alarm. 2658 N Central Park. 5) Parker. On 2524's Beat.

10:03pm - A unit is doing a premise check at 1747 N Springfield.

10:23pm - Assault. 2449 N Tripp. Complaint was yelled and cussed at by the neighbor.

11:03pm - Narcotics. 2925 N Springfield.

11:18pm - Shots fired. Wabansia and Harding. 4 to 5 gunshots heard with a red car fleeing north on Springfield.

11:19pm - Assault. 2018 N Karlov. Complainant claims he was threatened by two cops in marked unit #9522.

11:20pm - A couple of more calls are coming in on the 11:18pm job.

11:27pm - Domestic disturbance. 2641 N Springfield. 29 yr old son just got out of jail. Complaint owes him money. If he doesn't get, he's going to burn the house down.

11:30pm - Parker. 4300 block of W Parker.

11:39pm - DUI driver. 2907 N Karlov. Male Hispanic with a black shirt and shorts got into a red four door car. He took forever to park it and then he got back in.

11:54pm - Person w/ a gun. 2723 N Lawndale. Husband just pulled out a gun. Intoxicated husband pulled a gun out because he was asked to stop making so much noise. He's got the gun on the side of the bed.

Burglary on Flecther

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4:32pm. Anyway, today has been quite an exhausting day for me. Between getting up at 5am, going to class, dealing with kids in my Autism program and the school bus confusions, it's been one heck of a day. So I'm just relaxing. I only had two or three homework questions for basic math but I forgot it at school :(. So, here's crime for this afternoon and evening.

4:49pm - 1) Burglar report. 4141 W Flecther. 2) Traffic accident. Nelson and Pulaski.

5:00pm - An RD number has been pulled from the Flecther job. It's HR529803 with the event number of 12959.

5:03pm - Theft. 2942 N Konster. Two male Hispanic in blue shirt and jean shorts tried to steal a bike. They fled towards George.

5:15pm - We've got a big gang disturbance on our hands. Group of male Hispanics are picking up rocks and are threatening to hit male Black gangbangers with them. Location of this is where the melee broke out last night, at Wrightwood and Lawndale. There was also a call (or calls) at Ridgeway and Wrightwood regarding the same thing. This isn't good at all. This would be the second incident in that area within the last 21 hours.

5:27pm - Battery. 2907 N Springfield.

5:30pm - Gang disturbance. 3900 block of W Diversey. They're throwing bottles at passing cars.

5:40pm - The 5:15pm job is much more serious. Now it's coming in as a Assault and Battery in progress. Group fight with rocks being thrown.

5:42pm - A slow down is being given on the 5:40pm job. Beat 2580Charlie has five on the hood.

6:17pm - Disturbance. Konster and Wellington. Male harassing people on the block.

6:25pm - Assault in progress. 3700 block of W Fullerton. Group of six gangbangers are chasing someone, heading eastbound. Also, Beat car 2525 gets a reckless driver and a burglar report on the Beat.

6:32pm - Something about a male being held for shoplifting at Fullerton and Konster, at the grocery store.

6:38pm - Person w/ a gun. Orignally came as a gang disturbance @ 3754 W Fullerton. Anyway, a male Hispanic with a red t-shirt and black jean shorts is walking up to cars with a gun. The gun 911 call was called in at Fullerton and Hamlin.

6:40pm - A slow down is being given on Fullerton. Nothing's being seen per 2510.

Good evening, everyone, it's 6:26pm. Anyway, school was tiring but good. I would've made a post earlier but I got stuck with some homework which was top priority. But now I'm done. So, here's crime for this evening.

4:27pm - 1) Burglar report. 2436 N Avers. 2) Disturbance. Wrightwood and Avers. Three kids loitering on the corner. 3) Parker. 3737 W Wrightwood. Red car parked, blocking the driveway.

4:38pm - Parker. 1645 N Monticello. Premit, with flashing lights.

5:03pm - Battery. 314(or 6)3 N Milwaukee. At Taco Bell. Male White, 53, blue jeans just layed out someone. Vitcim is laying in the parking lot. Offender is homeless.

5:17pm - Gang disturbance. Wabansia and Harding. 6 to 8 of them loitering.

5:33pm - The 5:03pm job is being duped out to Ambulance 81.

5:34pm - Person wanted. Milwaukee and Central Park. In the MB Bank parking lot. A guy named Adam, about 5'2, dark clothing is wanted for criminal damage to property. He's with some other guys.

5:49pm - I'm going to go for a little bit. Need to do something. Will be back :).

6:22pm - I'm back :).

6:23pm - Battery. McLean and Hamlin. Sister being attacked by a group.

6:34pm - An outdoor roll call is being held at Palmer and Kedvale. The 2561 team is also on some kind of mission in that area.

6:36pm - 1) DUI driver. George and Ridgeway. Male White, older, on a bike is very intoxicated. He might get hit by a car. 2) Assault @ 2708 N Central Park. Complaint has 8 kids and the landlord shut off the electricity. Note: Is this supposed to be an "Assault" job? Sounds more like a landlord/tenant dispute call. 3) Traffic accident. Fullerton and Hamlin.

6:37pm - Fullerton and Hamlin is coded 18Boy by Beat car 2535. They just drove by and there's no accident.

6:45pm - Beat 2505 is doing a park check at Mozart. Event number is 14842.

6:47pm - Domestic disturbance. 4041 W Oakdale. Problem with 21 yr old son, and general arguing.

7:54pm - Uh oh. This isn't good. The 25th District desk was just called by an off duty PO who's reporting a gang fight at Wrightwood and Lawndale. They're fighting on the entire 2600 block of N Lawndale. From the sound of things, they were even fighting on Monroe School grounds.

8:06pm - 1) Check the well being. 1800 block of N Hamlin. The cell phone tower hits off here. A female was hysterical and crying. 2) Disturbance. 3801 W Belmont.

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 3:30pm. Well, all roads led back to Blogger, didn't they? Sure seems like it. But, it's nice to be back here. You, the reader, can once again leave comments without having to sign up for an account. But, it was good being on Windy Citizen. So, anyway, I started school today. It was pretty good, but it could've been a little better. So, anyway, here's crime for this afternoon and evening.

3:53pm - Traffic accident. Belmont and Ridgeway. A woman was hit by a green Chevy van. It fled towards Milwaukee on Ridgeway.

4:11pm - I need to do something else for a bit, then I'll be back :).

5:20pm - Traffic accident. 2317 N Hamlin. Ambulance 32 took a child to Children's after s/he was ran over.

5:49pm - Domestic disturbance. 3729 W Shakespeare. Husband threatened the complaint, and he's driving around the block in a gold vehicle.

6:16pm - Burglar report. 1824 N Springfield.

6:32pm - Person down. Milwaukee and Monticello. 50 yr old male passed out. EMS en route.

6:36pm - Disturbance. 1632 N Hamlin.

6:39pm - 1) There was something in the area, but now I can't remember it. 2) Criminal trespass in progress. 3719 W McLean. 7 to 8 teens, possibly smoking weed.

6:41pm - Traffic accident. Belmont and Milwaukee. No injures.

7:55pm - Sorry I never returned after dinner. We got caught up filling out forms for school. Anyway, there was a huge fire at 3028 N Milwaukee. Sounded pretty bad. CTA buses had to be rerouted, traffic control was needed, etc. Also, two females got into a fight at Armitage and Monticello.

8:00pm - Domestic Battery. 3851 W Schubert. Boyfriend beat the complaint up.

8:05pm - Beat 2563Adam had a traffic stop at 2028 N. Central Park, and will be going in with one.

It's been great being here on Blogger, earning all of my readers and commenters over the past six or seven months. But, it's time to move on to bigger and better things. Altough, If I have a hard time learning about this site or anything by next month, the owner said I could return here. The new blog I'll be on is Windy Citizen, a great site for Chicagoans. First day of summer

Good morning, everyone, it's 12:02am. Last night was crazy, with big crowds on Fullerton, looking for trouble. I believe they are still out there. Anyway, happy Father's day to all of you that believe in it. Also, today is the first day of summer, which means real warm weather, and, sorry, violence. Oh, and before I forget, this is my last day on Blogger. Starting tomorrow, the blotter is moving to a new site. I'll have the link up tomorrow. Here is crime for today.

1:41pm - I'm getting word that shots were just fired at Lawndale and Wolfram. After the shots, my source reported that they heard a car take off like a bat out of hell.

1:55pm - Criminal damage. 2117 N Karlov. Window has a bullet in it from shots fired overnight.

2:21pm - Traffic accident. Milwaukee and Hamlin. CTA bus #6731 was rear-ended by a car.

2:44pm - 1) The backlog has been put back in. 14:44 hours. 2) Municipal ordinance violation. 4420 W Parker. Males drinking in the alley

3:00pm - 1) Burglar alarm. 2010 N Central Park. At Funston school. 2) Information for police. 1711 N Monticello. Complaint would like to give additional information from a report done there.

3:37pm - Loud music disturbance. 4246 W Wellington.

3:38pm - Battery in progress. 1620 N Springfield. Three male Hispanics and one male Black beating each other with bats.

3:39pm - The 3:38pm job is coded 19Boy.

3:40pm - Assault. Fullerton and Harding. Two male Blacks, one in a white t-shirt and one in all black threatened to take the complaint's cart. They're also harassing the complaint.

4:19pm - Person down. Wellington and Kenosha. Male down in the alley.

4:37pm - The 3:37/4:19pm jobs are coded 19Paul.

4:38pm - 1) Domestic Battery. 2523 N Monticello. Complaint was beaten up by the boyfriend. 2) Battery. 1620 N Springfield. Complaint was jumped and maced.

4:51pm - Robbery. McLean and Lawndale. Two male Blacks, one who was older with a hoodie, just robbed the complaint at gunpoint.

4:54pm - Beat 2566Boy is asking for a call back on the 4:51pm job. They also say there's a POD camera right there which might be able to give a better description.

4:55pm - A Spanish speaker is needed at the 4:51pm job.

4:57pm - The 4:51pm vitcim says that it was two male Blacks that fled south on Lawndale. However, the incident will be coded since the vitcim doesn't want a report. Dispatch wonders why they even bothered calling.

Hello, everyone. I have some serious news to share with all of you. After July 1 (or before then), I will not be able to do crime blotter anymore. A check, which I got once a month, has been terminated. Because of it, we're going to have to turn our internet, cable, etc. off so we can pay for the bills for things we need. If you are interested in taking over the crime blotter for me, please, leave me a comment on here or email me. I will get you hooked up right away. But, in order to do the crime blotter, you'll need a police scanner and an account with Blogger (it's free of charge).

I am very sorry to share this news with all of you, and I absolutely regret it. I wish there was a way everything could be payed so I could continue the crime blotter, but there is not.

I will miss doing the crime blotter very much. Thank you to all of you who have read and commented over the last few months. It was great seeing so many people cared about the crime situation. Hopefully, someone else will take over and everyone will still be informed.

I don't think this is goodbye forever, though. Maybe one day, the recession will end and everyone will get the money they need.

1:32pm - Beat car 1432 has a traffic stop at Medill and Milwaukee. She needs an assist car since her person has a warrant.

1:35pm - Alot of cars are pulling up to 1432's stop. No more are needed.

1:42pm - Battery. 1938 W North. Complaint was getting money when another male swiped the money and hit the complaint.

1:43pm - Disturbance. 2703 N Franscisco. Group of males loitering in the alley.

1:51pm - Panic alarm. 3063 W Belden.

1:54pm - Beat car 1433 asks for an event number for a non-violence mission and auto theft mission. It's 11073.

Male Hispanic, young-ish looking, is sitting on a car, reading a newspaper. Caller thinks he's suspicious because of all the gang activity in the area lately.

2:44pm - Beat 1410 asks for an event number for a district mission (1133X) and for a curfew mission (11338).

2:49pm - Person down. Kimball and Belden. Right away, this is coded by a unit that drives by. 2) Check the well being. 3030 W Palmer. Something about a woman not wanting to do something. Forced entry will be made by the fire department. Beat car 1410 is riding on this along with the assigned car, 1421.

2:52pm - 1) Burglary report. 2121 N California. 2) Beat 1421 is asking for a call back at 3030 W Palmer.

2:54pm - The 3030 W Palmer caller is confined to the bedroom since they are old and crippled. They want the police to break their door down. 1421's going through an open window.

2:58pm - The Battery at 2323 N Kedzie is actually an attempted strong-arm robbery. Wanted is a male Black, 5'11, 200 pounds, large build, black hat or doo-rag and black pants. It occurred in the alley of 2349 N Kedzie at about 14:00 hours (2pm). He fled east through the yards.

3:02pm - Hold-up alarm. 3429 W Diversey. At Famliy Dollar.

3:16pm - 3030 W Palmer is being duped to Ambulance 43.

3:19pm - Beat car 1433 asks for a non-violence and Burglary SOB mission number. It's 12716.

3:23pm - 1) Parker. 1600 N Marshfield. Premits. 2) Parker. 1800 block of N Paulina. In the west alley, an AT&T truck is blocking it.

3:27pm - Commerical alarm. 1750 N California. At the ooo-wee car wash. Waiting area motion.

3:40pm - Theft in progress. 2500 W Bloomingdale. A tan Nissan has it's doors wide open with a male Hispanic in a navy blue shirt and dark blue jeans is stripping it and stealing things.

3:43pm - A slow down is being given on the 3:40pm job.

3:46pm - 1) Person down. Dickens and Sawyer. Male laying in the grass on the northwest corner. His legs are in the street. 2) Sex offense. North and Fairfield. Male Black with a blue baseball cap, red shirt and blu jeans just grabbed the complaint below their waist. 3) Narcotics. Armitage and Sawyer. A barber is selling drugs by the barber shop [how ironic]. His name begins with an S. 4) Disturbance. 2392 N Milwaukee. At the Liberty bank. Female Black, black coat, colorful scarf is outside, bothering the customers near the bus stop.

3:49pm - Beat 1402 asks for an RD number from a traffic accident at 3300 W Fullerton. It's HR383750 with the event number of 13320.

3:57pm - 1) Gang disturbance. Artesian and Diversey. In front of the liquoir store, 8 gangbangers are causing problems. 2) Burglar alarm. 2037 N Winchester.

4:17pm - Check the well being. 3003 N Central Park. Apartment 5. Female kept saying she needed the police, then the line disconnected. When the call taker tried calling back, they kept getting a busy signal.

4:18pm - Traffic accident. Fullerton and Rockwell. Property damage. Someone is causing a scene there.

11:34pm - Criminal trespass in progress. 1845 N St Louis. Gangbangers in the vacant apartment, cheering. Dispatch and officers question this (in a funny way).

11:43pm - Assault in progress. 3417 W Diversey. At the supermarket. Male was arguing with four gangbangers. They're threatening to get him if he comes out.

5:46am - Check the well being. 3100 block of N Central Park. Asian male, 16-20 yrs of age, yellow shirt, running south towards Milwaukee. He's banging on cars, yelling and screaming.

5:48am - They're also calling at Central Park and Milwaukee. Male is screaming for the police.

6:03am - Beat car 2522 is relocating one into 25 from the 5:46/5:48am jobs.

6:16am - A 5:29am offender was found at 2324 N Konster. They're taking him into 25.

6:17am - Parkers. On 2523's beat.

6:18am - Beat 2533 asks what time the first call came out. That was at 05:29 hours. Also, an RD number has been pulled, beginning with the digits of HR381.

2:01pm - Disturbance. 3900 W Fullerton. Male Hispanic, red shirt, blue jeans, black ski mask has a rock in his hand and he threw a bottle.

2:44pm - EMERGENCY on Zone 12. Traffic pursuit. Division and Mayfield. Heading northbound. This subject is wanted for a carjacking that occurred in the 12th district. State police were chasing this vehicle on the 290 Expressway, along with the 11th and 12th districts. At around 2:40pm, the chase entered 15 from Cicero. They chased it all the way to Division.

2:45pm - Approaching Division and Austin. Going into Oak Park.

2:46pm - The chase is in Oak Park. I'll stop mointoring for now.

2:47pm - Subject is coming back into Chicago.

2:48pm - Now they're in Chicago. Going west on North Avenue towards Narrangset.

2:50pm - Beat 2550 is telling all units to terminate the chase. Units are still chasing. Dispatch repeatedly yells at units to stop.

2:59pm - He's going east on Lake from Austin. Officer on scene says it was crazy when he flew by.

2:01pm - Burglary in progress. 2850 N Hamlin. Intoxicated male trying to get in the building via the rear.

2:02pm - Beat car 2524 tells dispatch that there are males who hang around the 2:01pm building. When you see them, you can see that they have kitchen knifes on them.

12:25pm - They're calling back over at the 12:03pm job. They say the police only went by. Well, that's because they can't find what the complaint is talking about. I just looked at the map myself and the police are correct. Maybe it's 1801 South Pulaski?

10:29am - Reckless driver. Pulaski and Fullerton. A car with plates of 932930 is driving recklessly, going north on Pulaski.

10:36am - Narcotics. Fullerton and Central Park. Three male Hispanics, one with a ice cooler thingy (you know, someting you use at a BBQ), are selling cocaine.

12:01pm - Domestic Battery. 2925 N Springfield. Complaint was beaten up by the boyfriend.

12:13pm - Beat car 2524 asks for a burglary mission event number. It's going on the PDT.

12:19pm - Beat 2524 is on a street stop at 3719 W Diversey.

12:26pm - Disturbance. 2965 N Milwaukee. Homeless guy sleeping in the bank parking lot.

12:35pm - Sounds like the 12:26pm sleeper woke up and is beating up the parking meters at 2980 N Milwaukee. He may be a male White with a red baseball cap.

1:20pm - Beat car 2504 is heading to Mozart Park.

1:28pm - Battery in progress. McLean and Hamlin. Group of people fighting. Another call came in for a disturbance with a mental over there involving a mom, so it might be the family trying to get her.

1:34pm - The 1:28pm job is confirmed to be what the other ticket said it was. Ambulance 82 is on scene and will be transporting the mom.

2:35pm - I hear two gunshots then people screaming, so I call 911. They gave it out four minutes later. There were two shots fired.

Early morning shots fired in Avondale

I said I wouldn't do a post today, but after all of the shots fired last night and early this morning, I couldn't help but to. An officer on Beat car 2521 (around 10pm) last night said there would be more shots fired, and he was right. At 2:09am, two shots were fired at 3650 W Diversey. Then, another call of 2 shots fired came in at George and Lawndale, then last but not least, the 2800 block of N Ridgeway (my sister called this one in). 3 shots on that call. We've also had shots fired in the 2900 block of N Hamlin last night. I'm guessing the police checked this out, saw nothing and coded it because there was no paper done, at least to my knowledge.

Then, at 2:26am, we heard another shot, but since there was only one, we didn't bother calling it in. Just after 3am, there was another shot fired.

I wonder what this shooting crap is all about. It's probably gang related, for one thing. But, just because there's a rivalry going on does NOT give them the right to FIRE SHOTS, especially at 2am, when people are trying to sleep. I will be contacting the 25th district commander sometime today or tomorrow regarding the shots fired. I'm going to make an attempt to talk to him about putting a couple of more of patrols in this area. I'll talk to him about putting a foot patrol in the neighborhood for all times this summer. I feel we really need some extra police presence in the area this summer. It's not even summer yet and already violence is breaking out beyond control (in my opinion).

We haven't had one Homicide in the neighborhood this year (knock on wood), but with all of these shots fired, our luck may soon run out. Until then, here is what I recommend for all citizens to remain safe:

* After 9pm, if you need to be somewhere, don't walk alone. Have someone be with you in case trouble comes.
* Pay attention to your surroundings at all times. This includes not having headphones on your ears, talking on your cell phone, etc.
* If you see gangbangers in crowds more than three, call 911. I know, that's a very small crowd, but now, even one can cause all hell to break loose.
* Beware of suspicious activity. This includes gangbangers standing on corners for too long, people looking into cars, etc. If you witness this, call 911.
* At night, try your best at all costs to stay off blocks such as the 2900 block of N. Hamlin, 2800 block of N. Ridgeway (where all of the shots have been fired recently), and streets such as George and Lawndale.
* Carry some mace, or another legal weapon, with you if you need to be out at night. This way, if you're approached by an unwanted person, you can do something. Or, if you don't feel like getting in trouble, perhaps, call 911.
* Keep your kids, especially the ones under 10, indoors after 9pm. I don't care if the curfew isn't until 10pm (Sunday through Thursday) or 11pm (Friday and Saturday). You're asking for trouble if you're out after dusk, especially on the warmer nights. You want your kids to be safe, right?

If you follow any and all steps, you should be safe. Again, if you hear more than one gunshot at once (this can also apply to fireworks), call 911. In nearly all cases, the police will respond.
