Apparently, the shooting never stops in Logan Square. Yet another shooting has occurred. The latest one occurred at the V Live Club, 2047 North Milwaukee at about 2:00am this morning. A 17 year old boy was shot to death in this club after an alleged argument with another guy when that guy pulled out a handgun and shot him. The boy was indentifed by the Cook County Medical Examier as Ramiro Guevara. According to police, there were over 2000 people in this club when the incident occurred. They were paying $30 to get in. People under 21 were allowed in, but the workers allegedly gave those under age wristbands that did NOT allow them to drink. Source/Read more.
I've got questions about this:
1) Why the hell was a 17 yr old boy allowed in a club like V Live?
2) Why is the boy out after curfew? On a school night, no less? At 2 this morning, I was sleeping for 6 hours.
3) Why did V Live allow minors into the club?
4) I know the article says that 2487 people are allowed into V Live, but why were there 2000 people in one room like that? On a Wednesday night/Thursday (early) morning? Doesn't anybody who was there have a job in the morning? I understand that some people don't work in the mornings, but seriously, at least a few people there had/have to.
5) Why was the murderer allowed to bring a gun into the club? Don't they have security where you get patted down? I went to my school's homecoming dance last Friday night and I was searched head to toe by CPD, but yet a nightclub can't search the people who come in there?
I'm sorry to offend the owners (if they're reading), but this club needs to be closed down, immediately. Why did the local residents within that area allow this club to open up in the first place?
I encourage everyone who lives near the club to complain to the police about this club and make some sort of petition to get the place shut down. It'll ruin your good time, but so what? It'd be safer than sorry.

Update, 10/21/09: Apparently, more happened at V Live Club this night than thought. An updated news article reports that there was a beating outside of the club. It is NOT related to the shooting, according to Chicago Police. Four males were arrested and charged with Battery.

Intoxicated Male Sleeping on Davlin
Good afternoon, everyone, it's 3:34pm. Today was actually a good day. It's been warm outside, and unfortunely, that's brought out the troublemakers. I spotted a group of teens fighting at Belmont and Central Park. My driver had the bus company to call 911. I also spotted alot of troublemakers all over Central Park and Diversey. I'll monitor things until 6pm to see what goes down. Here is crime for this afternoon.
3:34pm - Disturbance. 3058 N Haussen. Intoxicated male sleeping in front.
3:50pm - Gang disturbance. Wrightwood and Konster. 7 to 8 of them flashing signs.
4:07pm - Battery in progress. Oakdale and Central. Drunks fighting.
4:20pm - Burglar alarm. 3915 W Armitage.
5:49pm - Apparently, there was another shooting in the area. This won't have a post made on it, however, as it only occurred in the coverage area and not in the actual neighborhood. It occurred on the 1600 block of North Avers at 7pm last night. It probably happened as I was eating. A male was shot in the chest. The news article made an error and reported this to be in Logan Square but it's actually in Humboldt Park.
6:00pm - 1) Gang disturbance. 2107 N Lawndale. 15 of them doing their time. 2) Battery report. 3040 N Milwaukee. Tenant pushed down the landlord.

Frozen Eggs Thrown @ Springfield and Cortland
Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4:46pm. School had drama again, but the field trip was nice. Today, we learned about the Northeastern Illinois University (we went to the campus on Bryn Mawr) and financial aide offered by colleges. Also, yours truly made a speech today about my future plans of employment and about this blog. I told the audience I do this blog out of love and care for my community. I also do it because elected officals around here fail to do their job and inform. So, here is crime for this afternoon and evening.
6:04pm - Sorry, but I was sleeping. It's just been a extremely long day for me.
6:11pm - 1) Disturbance. Springfield and Cortland. Group of males on the corner throwing frozen eggs. 2) A major disturbance is brewing at the intersection of Harding and Wabansia. There appears to be a large group of males throwing up gang signs and throwing eggs.
6:19pm - Gangbangers are bangin' with the 2300 block of N Springfield.
6:20pm - Criminal trespass in progress. 3824 W George. Former tenants are in the building, throwing garbage out the windows.
6:26pm - Violation order of protection. Avers and Wabansia. Ex-girlfriend's in the area and complainant does not want any trouble.
6:28pm - The CopWatch guys are at Springfield and Belden. I guess they'd like to see how the 25th District cops handle the gangbangers (since there IS a gang disturbance right there)?

Good evening, everybody, it's 5:51pm. Sorry for being so late, but I was swamped with homework, but I'm done and ready to blog. Anyway, today was good for me but crazy for lots of others ;). Tomorrow, I'm heading on my first field trip of the year to go to Northeastern University for the transition fair (about getting a job after high school, but I already know where I want to work which is at the 911 center being a dispatcher). Downer Gets Moved on Milwaukee
Good evening, everyone, it's 7:30pm. Today's been a good day for me. Anyway, there's been reports of fights breaking out on Milwaukee (Belmont to Central Park) within the last 30 to 45 minutes. I'll monitor that. So, here's crime for tonight.
7:32pm - Beat 2542 asks Dispatch if there's a call of a person down at 3028 N Milwaukee. If there is, it can be coded out. The person was moved along.
7:49pm - Check the well being. 3850 W North. Guy out of breath is requesting police.
7:51pm - Battery in progress. 3900 block of W Dickens. 4 male and 4 female teens throwing bottles at each other.
8:02pm - Violation order of protection. 4323 W Schubert. Offender was on scene 30 minutes ago but is gone. Complainant wants a report.
8:14pm - Battery in progress. 3094 N Milwaukee. It's got some time on it, but two guys are fighting with sticks.
8:24pm - The 7:51pm job is coded. Nobody's there. It was assigned at 8:15, so of course.
8:30pm - Parkers. On 2523's Beat. Also, there's a disturbance on 2524's Beat.

Threatening Boyfriend On Dickens
Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4:45pm. Today was ok at school. I just wish a few people would have common sense and quit making fun of kids in my class. Anyway, the sun has finally started to come out a bit. Good. Also, this weekend, I'll be on that schedule again (monitoring after dinner tomorrow and until dinner on Sunday). Lastly, I'm monitoring 25 this afternoon and evening until dinner, then I'll take a little nap and monitor 14 from 8pm-midnight. Here is crime for this afternoon and evening.
4:48pm - Domestic disturbance. 3641 W Dickens. Boyfriend is threatening the complainant.
5:35pm - Robbery. 2423 N Pulaski. Delivery driver was robbed by a male Black, thin, black hoodie. He pointed a gun at the complainant's stomach. Went towards Diversey.
5:40pm - Gang disturbance. Altgeld and Kildare. They're loitering.
5:42pm - Wanted from the 5:35pm job is a male Black, 6 feet tall, 45-50 yrs old, black stocking cap, black jacket and black t-shirt. He fled in a small brown vehicle, north on Pulaski. He had a blue steel gun. He took money.
5:47pm - Theft in progress. 3934 W Diversey. People stealing in Walgreens. There was an apparent job here earlier too.
6:08 to 6:18pm - I had to turn the radio down. Someone over here was on the phone with something.
6:29pm - There's a job on Central Park.
6:30pm - A unit lets Dispatch know that Kelyvn Park High School, 4343 W. Wrightwood, is having their Homecoming Dance tonight. It lets out at 9pm. Some gangbangers are looking to do damage to those attending, according to an off duty officer.

Premise Check On Avers
Good afternoon, everyone. It's 4:37pm. Today was pretty good at school, but it was tiring. Tomorrow is TGIF however :). Anyway, it's still raining and it's still cold. Also, there was a shooting at V Live Club (2047 N. Milwaukee) early this morning. Just awful. When I monitor 14 tomorrow night (8pm-midnight), I'll be sure to listen up for any and all calls at this club. Here is crime for this afternoon and evening.
4:38pm - Beat 2573 is doing a premise check at 3043 N Avers.
4:59pm - Person calling for help. 2010 N Central Park. In front of the school.
5:08pm - Check the well being. 4120 W Wellington. Elderly couple lives at this address and they haven't been answering their phone. The couple allegedly does not go out on rainy days such as today. Complainant wants police to check on them.
5:36pm - Criminal damage. Hamlin and Diversey. Male Hispanic, black hoodie and dark jeans damaged the complainant's car.
6:00pm - Disturbance. 3801 W Belmont. Female begging in front of Dunkin Donuts.
6:07pm - Disturbance. 2059 N Pulaski. Group of males drinking in the laundry mat.

4:52pm - Beat 2590 is asking for a call back over on the 4:47pm job. Update, at 4:54pm - The caller is not involved. They just witnessed it. It happened at Aidi's.
5:00pm - Police/Dispatch chatter about the 4:47pm job.
5:20pm - Gang disturbance. Lawndale and Wrightwood. 5 or 6 of them flashing signs and throwing bricks.
5:55pm - Beat car 2524 was flagged down at Konster and Altgeld.

Male Getting Beaten @ Wrightwood and Ridgeway

Gunshots Ring Out On Ridgeway Last Night
Good morning, everyone. There was a shoot-out on Ridgeway last night at about 11:30pm. I had front row seating to it. I was awoken by 3 to 4 gunshots in front of the house. My mom was still up. She was about to call 911 but she didn't have to. An unmarked unit sped down here with lights and sirens, following a car that sped off at top speed. They came out of the alley then proceeded north.
The scanner was turned on this point. Beat 2561Charlie was in pursuit of this car. They on-viewed the Shots Fired by this car. The people in this car were gangbangers, shooting at another car with more gangbangers in it. The offenders drove the car up to 3130 North Davlin Court to where they bailed on foot. Officers gave chase, to no avail.
A few minutes, they returned later to my block, with flashlights. They were investigating. Within minutes, they found what they were looking for. There was a gun hidden in the bushes a few doors down from where I reside. Obviously, as the offenders drove by, they threw the gun out the car.
It's not known if anybody was shot, or if there were shell casings found, but there was in fact a shooting last night.
This is probably from a gang war that has probably erupted within the local area. I knew I should've call 911 earlier in the day when I saw a group of rowdy kids up the street from me. They're just kids, but it's gotten to the point around here where you need to call the police on anyone or anything. I encourage all residents to take part and ATTEND YOUR BEAT MEETINGS, CALL 911 WHEN NEEDED, PICK UP TRASH, ETC. The police can't do this by theirselves anymore. They need our help. I will definately help them out. Anybody want to join?

Accident Near Armitage and Damen
Good morning, everyone, it's 9:25am. Today, I'm monitoring 14 until 8:00pm when I have to go to bed. I'll finish the monitoring Friday night. Anyway, today is going to be another cold day with it not even getting out of the 40s. I personally think we may get some snow today. So, here's crime for today.
9:27am - Traffic accident. 2000 block of W Armitage. CFD is requesting assistance.
9:40am - Disturbance. 2946 W Lyndale. Tenant's not letting the complainant into the building.
9:52am - Disturbance (shouldn't this be Assault?). 2920 N Milwaukee. Complainant was trying to get the rent from one of their tenants. When they went up to get it, the tenant threatened to hit them in the head and slammed the door.
9:53am - The 9:40am job is coded 5Ocean.
9:54am - A unit is asking for an event number for a gang loitering mission at 1838 N Washtenaw. It's 04558.
10:01am - Someone's got a traffic stop at Mozart and Fullerton.
10:20am - Suspicious vehicle. 1924 N Spaulding. Maroon 4-door vehicle has been there for a while.
10:23am - Burglar alarm. 2436 N Maplewood.
10:24am - Disturbance. 2912 N Milwaukee. Homeless male refuses to leave the rear of the building. Also, Beat car 1412 asks for a violence reduction event number for the Beat. It's 04997. A premise check at the train station at Belmont and Kimball also had an event number but I didn't catch it.

Good morning, everybody. I received a comment from someone who reported a shooting yesterday morning at 6:30am at the intersection of Lyndale and Campbell. Did anyone else see or hear anything?

12:26pm - The car is stopped at 6641 N Talman.

Disturbance On Scene Of An Accident

Good morning, everyone, it's 10:09am. I'm at school right now. 10:46am - Threatening suicide. Central Park and Milwaukee. Complainant's drunk 22 yr old daughter is in the street, trying to kill herself. She wants to harm others as well.

10:24pm - Traffic accident. Fullerton and Monticello. Three cars, no injures. Update, 10:25pm - Now there's four cars involved with an argument breaking out on scene.

Mom Getting Beaten On Konster
Good evening, everyone. It's 6:13pm. Today wasn't such a good day. It'll be better tomorrow. So, here is crime for this evening.
5:53pm - Battery in progress. Wrightwood and Konster. 35 yr old beating mom.
5:54pm - There was a job at 2744 N Hamlin.
6:55pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.
7:10pm - I'm back.
7:18pm - Disturbance. 3025 N Killbourn. Problem with a male who won't pay the complainant.
7:34pm - Domestic disturbance. 3124 N Monticello. Problem with girlfriend.
7:58pm - Domestic disturbance. 1942 N Harding. Boyfriend is supposedly out of control. With that, I'm out of here for tonight. Good night and I'll be back tomorrow.
