Good morning, everyone, it's 6:43am. I'm not used to seeing the sun just coming out at this time. I'm used to it being out already, but oh well, that's a part of us changing our clocks one hour ahead. If anything, the sun will be coming back up earlier and earlier as the next few months roll by. Anyway, I'm not in school today because I have an eye doctor's appointment. It's not until 2:15pm, but my mom doesn't want the hassle of having to get on CTA for two to three hours just to come pick me up from school. Besides, I need a day off anyway. Lastly, I don't know how long I'll be monitoring today. Stay tuned. So here's crime for today.

Crime in the morning? Hardly. All the gangbangers are still sleeping. They'll wake up at about noon or so.
Just because the gangbangers aren't out does not mean there won't be crime, bobbo. Remember, we have the schools opening at this time of the day.
Glad to see this blog back in full effect. Been a long time watcher, keep up the great work... it is appreciated. Dont let a few bad apples ruin your spirit! Thank again.
Kids getting in fights at or by school? Man the stuffs happened for years. But growing up we never called the police for it. Minor fist fights have always gone on. We didn't cry to the polic about it though. Even our folks would never dream of bring in the police on typical kid fist fights. Today folks are just soft.
That section of Diversey - where the narcotics dealing was going on in the back - has been getting pretty dicey for a while now. I want to see CPD get tougher in that area. Of course, that means we citizens need to do our part and make those anonymous calls too. The cops can't catch who they aren't looking for...
No problem, anonymous 11:22, and thank you for your support.
Luke, like I have told you in the past, not every kid wants to fight or be involved in a fight. Some kids just want to go to school and get their education. And some kids are battered for no reason. So why shouldn't those kids and their parents have a right to file a police report? It's called simple battery, you know.
Anonymous 2:33, yes, it has. For at least the last six or seven months now. I know I have called quite a bit on that location for blatant gang activity and drug dealing. One night, I saw a group of about 15 males loitering all over that corner. The corner of Diversey and Lawndale is becoming a known gang hotspot if you ask me. And, yes, I agree, we must do our part and call. I will continue to make calls if I see anything.
Define battery. Minor slapping and some punches? Make police reports for fights involving 10 yr. olds? I can see if the kid got his arm broke or took 7 stitches to his head but minor nonsense? These kids fight one day, and next week they're buddies again. If that's the way the new generation wants to happen nonsense, god help us...The country's going down fast...
Luke,
Almost all CPS buildings have police in house. Someone probably didn't call it in, it was most likely the school itself that dealt with it.
You sound like such a tough guy. Perhaps if your mother or sister or daughter gets beat up you'll just tell her to toughen up, right?
