Message To All
Because I don't feel appreciated and apparently can't say anything on my own blog without starting a war, I'm boycotting providing this service to all of you. I'm sick and tired of everything. If it isn't here, it's school. If it isn't school, it's something at home. I can't win. So as a result of me being chastised for saying anything on my own blog, I refuse to listen to my police scanner and blog for all of you. This boycott will last until I feel I am being treated with some respect and I can say what I want on my blog. So until then, too bad. Go find another blog or something until I come back. You can thank your fellow community members for this.

Sorry but this will not earn you any respect. Throwing a tantrum is for kids.
So be it. I don't care anymore. People just except me to do everything for the community and not say a word about it. No. I'm done.
Parker, you can't please everyone. Stay strong. We need you.
There is no doubt that there is a lot of ugliness in this world and a lot of ugly people to go with it. I do hope you will reconsider and return to blogging, not for the sake of any one person, but for the sake of a community that does have respect for you and what you do. The people that do the bashing on your site do not represent the community you serve, and may very well be the very persons that your information serves to address. So many times I've seen comments on the blog that hurt my heart, but I try remember that those comments only serve to point out even more strongly how important it is as a community to stand up against the ugliness that exists. Give yourself a deserved rest to think on it Tim, but come back when you're ready to fight the good fight. I admire what you do and stand behind you 100%.
It is just sad that there are really pathetic that the majority of them have internet access. I appreciate your blog as I actually do live in the community ,without your blog so much would be completly unheard. Your a great service to the community and hopefully in the future ignorant people will respect you for keeping the community informed and safe.
It would be sad to see this site go down but do what ever makes you happy Timmy. Good luck to you in whatever comes next!
I hope none of my comments have stopped you from this blog. :( You do a good job here and seem to care a great deal about the community. Perhaps taking a break will help? You might be burned out from everything.
I agree with everyone. Just take some time off from blogging. You have so much going on in school and home. This is only getting you upset. Get lots of rest and when you are ready come back. We will all miss you. You do what is right for yourself. This is exactly what these negative people want to see you go through. Don't let them get to you..
Take care Timmy..
Thanks for all your hard work you do and the endless sleepless nights you went through for us. :)
Stay strong Timmy. You have more support that you know. Most of the good people are silently supporting you. I would wager a good dime that the jerks are very small. Many 1 or 2 jealous fools who spend all their time writing in under multiple names or multiple anonymous labels because they are either:
1. Unemployed
2. Uneducated
3. Jealous
Stay strong and I truly hope you continue this. Our neighborhoods need people like you.
I have enjoyed your blog, and I appreciate the effort that you put into it.
Speaking as someone who has a writing past, you have to expect people to disagree with your views and/or how you present them, but there are always those who will try to provoke rather than discuss.
This blog isn't about US. It should always be something that YOU choose to do, to share a piece of yourself with us is a gift. If others didn't agree, we wouldn't follow this blog.
I hope you continue to serve the community in your way. You are a young man who deserves total respect, and you have it from me.
It's frustrating, but, if you believe that what you are doing benefits people, and you want to help people, then that's all you should need. Ignore everyone else; it's an unfortunate part of life.
Timmy, you do an admirable service to your fellow citizens, who like you, have strong opinions. Remember a strong debate is essential in a democracy.I believe that your readers have become more involved then you may think- you have had almost 100,000 page views. Quite impressive young man! Keep it up!
I have the utmost respect for what you do for our community with your blog and your active participation in CAPS meetings. I also respect your decision to stop blogging and focus on other aspects of your life. Enjoy your time off, and I hope to see you back some day. Best of luck to you.
Don't let the haters get you down Timmy! I've been a long time reader of this blog even before I moved to Avondale. I appreciate everything you've done and hopefully you'll come back to blog again someday. Take care man.
You have provided a free community service. We should all be very grateful for your sacrifice, I know that I am and so are my friends and neighbors who I have shared your blog with. I wish that everyone treated you with the respect that you deserve unfortunately that is not the nature of many human beings. There will always be people who try to pull you down. The more times you get back up and keep fighting for what you believe in, the stronger you are.
I hope that this is just a break. A time for you to regroup- although really... that's just selfish of me. I'm not willing to put in the work that you are- nor are many people in the community. We rely on you and that's a lot to ask of anyone. At some point, it will be time for you to end this project and move on to bigger and better things. Perhaps a PAID community service? We need more people like you. No matter what you end up doing with your time, I'm glad that you are in my neighborhood.
Thank you for all of the time and energy that you have put forth as well as being the one who takes the beatings for speaking out.
Hey Timmy,
It's only a part of life that you will have people criticize you or just leave ignorant hateful comments. it will be part of your growing up. I think you are doing a great service as a Logan Square resident myself. When things get rough the only thing I can count on is my faith in Jesus Christ. With the world degenerating this will be the only truth still solid. It has stood the test of time. I would encourage you to get to know him and he will help you in your personal struggles. God Bless.
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)
Too bad, hopefully you do change your mind soon. Take your time and really don't waste your time even responding to the critics because they are doing exactly what they want you to do. Which is get you frustrated and stop blogging
Missing you already! Come back soon! Good luck and take good care of yourself. Don't listen to those fools that bring you down. Just remember life is short and we have to treasure every single day that we get to enjoy living on this planet. Don't waste anytime thinking about those ignorant comments typed by idiots. Time will catch-up to them and they shall rot in hell...were they belong.
Dont let the hounds get you down! Stay stong and always to remember to Hang Loose
I just found your blog in the last few months and check it weekly- don't stop blogging.
People are dicks. You can't avoid the criticism all the time. In fact, the more people who read this blog, the more critics you will get. As with anything. If you didn't have people bad mouthing your blog or opinion, you would know that no one reads it. But tons read it, and you will get a small number of jerks.
Give it some thought. You can't acknowledge every bad review.
Forgive the cliche, but Rome was not built in a day. just as a healthy community is not changed overnight. You are a staple to the health of Avondale/Logan Square. Last I checked, there weren't many blogs detailing the neighborhood, keeping residents aware. Come on Tim.
Don't give in to the negative. Everyone gets knocked down- it's the strong who get back up again.
Just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work and I've looked forward to reading your blog every day, and also to hear about your life. Whatever you decide, I wish you nothing but the best!
Timmy-
You have done a lot of good for the community, and I thank you. Still, school and family are important, and you should feel free to give them the time they deserve. I hope you'll come back, but if you don't--best of luck!
Timmy I would have to say is stop blogging. Why you ask because it seems that it stresses you out, and your a teen you should be out having fun, hanging out, going to the movies, get a girlfriend. It seems that you have problems in school and at home that stress you out, you dont need to blog anymore it stresses you out. You started blogging for fun and you could also quit because it has gotten boring or you fell that your the only one trying to change the neighborhood. Or instead of blogging everyday you could just do it once a week or month, or dont blog no more and you just listen to the scanner.
Hey Timmy-
I actually think you deserve a break-- I can't believe how well you keep up the blog, year after year, while keeping up with school, and having a life on top of it! Seriously, it's amazing.
I hope you find the right place in your life to take the next step, whether that's this blog or something else.
Peace brother!

Hey there.
It's your blog; you can post whatever you want on it. You don't owe anyone anything. If they don't want to read it, they don't have to look at it.
I live in the neighborhood, and check your blog pretty regularly. Just wanted to let you know that I'm one of those guys in your corner.
Please don't stop this blog. I live in neighborhood and get much information from blog. I need this information for when I remove from the apartment and walk to bus. I afraid of many of those dirty gang members and this blog helps me know where and when they attack. Please keep writing. You provide so much good information for us. I wish more young people can be more like yourself. Thank you.
Avers Averer, that is true, and thank you for your support.
ProdigalOne, you are one of the main reasons I have been continuing to do this blog. Besides you supplying me the archives I need, you are one of my main supporters, and I thank you for that. Your support is truly appreciated. As for your comment, I totally agree about the ugliness and these bashers probably not being the community that I serve.
very grateful, I also think it's sad that they have internet access. And, thank you for your support.
Thank you for all of your support, Nobody. I am grateful you have been following my blog for as long as you have. I am not going anywhere at the time being.
americanlt, it wasn't you really. It was mainly that anonymous asshole. Yes, I care a lot about my community. I just want everyone to be safe and to live their lives to the fullest without having to be in fear of safety. And yes, I was burned out from everything going on in my life.
Anonymous 8:19, thank you for your support. I appreciate it. And no problem about the sleepless nights I've been through. I will probably have many more as I continue to do this community work I am doing.
Roadwolf, thank you for your support also, and I agree.
Ronald, no problem. I enjoy providing this service. Yes, I do except people to disagree with me, but I also except them to do it in a respectful way. I am a firm believer in constructive criticism and respect. Calling someone names and degrading them isn't either. Yes, I will, so far, continue to provide community service in the way that I do. Thank you for your support, I appreicate it.
big shoulder, I agree.
Paul 1732, yes, my readers do have strong opinions like I do. That is mostly a good thing. As for debating, yes, it is essential, but taking deep breaths and civility go a long way. Thank you for your support.
Benjamin, thank you for your support. I am back and plan to be for a while.
Best Blog Ever, thank you for all of your support also over the last couple of years. I truly appreicate it.
stickfire, thank you for your support. I truly appreciate it. As far as everyone treating me with respect, although that should be the case, I understand that it will not happen. And I will always try to regroup myself after someone attempts to pull me down.
Anonymous 10:48, I see that now. I wish that wasn't so, but it is what it is, I guess. As far as knowing Jesus Christ, I do know Him, and I believe in his word. I have been a believer for a few years now. I have gone and will continue to go to Him with my problems. Yes, He is the only truth in the world.
Anonymous 12:16, thank you for your support. I appreicate it.
Anonymous 12:37, thank you for your support. I appreicate it. And I agree, we do need to treasure every single day that we have our lives. We won't be here forever. As for the idiots, I agree time will catch up with them and I will try not to think about them or their comments anymore.
Anonymous 2:53, thank you for your support. I appreicate it.
Anonymous 2:59, thank you for your support. I appreicate it. I will try not to acknowledge every bad review and I will continue to be here to make this community more healthier by the day.
Anonymous 5:55, thank you for your support. I appreciate it.
Anonymous 12:11, no problem, and thank you for your support. I appreicate it.
Anonymous 12:35, I'm not giving up just yet. I can't give up without a fight. Just because some people here are jerks or don't know better doesn't mean I should give up. Yes, this blog does stress me out from time-to-time, but so does school and my personal life. As far as the teen comment, I'm going to be 18 in three months, so I'll be an adult, and as far as doing all of the stuff you mentioned, I do go out and have fun occasionally, but on my own. Most people from school don't want to hang out or have fun with me, so I do it on my own. I've never had a lot of friends, and so far it's been very rare for someone to ask to go somewhere with me and hang out besides my family members. As far as the movies, because of my disability, I can't sit through movies. I can't be still long enough to watch a movie. And as for getting a girlfriend, I'm not interested in most girls at school or in my neighborhood because of their lifestyles and attitudes, and those that I am don't want someone like me as their boyfriend. I didn't start blogging because it was fun (although it sometimes really is), I started because this neighborhood was in desperate need of a place for residents to unite to fight crime and someone to hold the CPD and aldermen accountable. I have considered quitting because I have felt I was the only one who wanted to change the neighborhood. I still feel like that a little bit for the area right around my home though. I'm not ready just yet to quit though. I feel like I need to provide this service a while longer before I call it quits.
odc, thank you for all of your support in the last couple of years. I truly appreciate it, and I feel you are one of my most loyal readers. As far as keeping up with school and managing my life while doing this blog, I have to admit, I am amazed by myself having that ability, although I do admit it has gotten nearly impossible at times. Once again, thank you for all of your support.
Hey BLARS, thank you for your support, and I agree with you 100%. If these people don't like what they see, they don't have to read.
Linda, no problem, and thank you for your support. I appreicate it. I am glad I am able to keep you informed and safe.
Once again, thanks to all for all of your support. But now we all need to move on, so to do that, I'm closing this post to anymore comments.
