Good morning, everyone, it's 7:54am. It's a partly cloudy day with temps in the upper 70s. Today is supposed to get cloudy, with storms by early afternoon, with temps in the low to mid 80s, so we'll see how that goes. Today, I'm monitoring 25, from now until midnight. Anyway, I've been thinking about the work I do here for the community, and I'm thinking about doing that 911 seminar I was planning on doing last year sometime this summer. I'm just brainstorming right now, but if anyone has ideas or suggestions, don't hesitate to shoot me an email or leave a comment. With that, here's crime for today.
9:47am - Suspicious person. Wrightwood and Avers. Male Black, 17 to 22 years old, 5'9, dark complected, slim build, no shirt, blue jeans that are hanging low with his underwear visible, is looking into a blue 4-door car parked on the northwest corner. He saw the caller then started walking south towards Altgeld on Avers.
12:26pm - Burglary. 37XX W McLean. Female named Crystal crawled into the caller's window, said her name and then left.
12:36pm - Backlog in 25 at 12:36 hours.
12:37pm - Traffic accident. Pulaski and Fullerton.
1:07pm - 1) Disturbance. 3018 N Milwaukee Ave. At Danny's Liquor. Several homeless males loitering in front. 2) Robbery report. 36XX W Dickens. Caller's cell phone was taken last night.
1:15pm - Suspicious person. 2200 block of N Keystone. Male Hispanic with no shirt and black shorts is walking towards Dickens on Keystone with a naked newborn baby wrapped in a hospital gown.
1:16pm - Dispatch is receiving a similar call regarding the 1:15pm job at Pulaski/Fullerton.
1:36pm - The 1:15pm job actually happened at Pulaski/Fullerton. It's a bona fide child abduction, domestic-related. The baby daddy took the 3 month old daughter. He's 22 years old and has on blue shorts. He fled south towards Belden.
1:37pm - Beat 2520 is talking to the 1:15pm caller and that person says that the guy went south towards Dickens in the east alley of Keystone.
1:38pm - It's official: the 1:15pm job is related to the Pulaski/Fullerton call. Also, the victim says that he lives near LeMoyne and Avers.
1:40pm - Alarm. 37XX W Shakespeare.
1:41pm - The guy lives at 1349 N Avers. Beat 2577Sam, the unit that took the call where the victim called from, is heading over there now. 2520 is going to meet them over there.
1:43pm - 2577S needs another car at the Avers address. They found the guy, as well as his family, and it's getting hostile over there. Beat 2543 is going to slide over.
1:44pm - The guy is in custody. The family isn't happy and are making all kinds of allegations towards the CPD. They'll be calling to complain.
1:47pm - Beat 2582 is doing a foot patrol on Fullerton from Kilbourn to Pulaski. Event number is 097XX.
2:00pm - Backlog renewed at 14:00 hours. Also, 2520 is saying that they found the baby, and gave her back to the mother.
2:01pm - An RD number has been pulled from the Pulaski/Fullerton thing. It's HV345864 with the event number of 09510.
2:09pm - 1) Disturbance. 23XX N Monticello. Two males drinking near Tony's. 2) Disturbance. 19XX N Lawndale. Homeless male is loitering at the basement entry of an abandoned property.
2:50pm - Traffic accident. Monticello and Milwaukee Ave.
2:57pm - 2582 is going to be leaving Fullerton for a while. He's going Downtown to Union Hall to take care of some business.
3:25pm - 1) Parker. 28XX N Kenneth. 2) Information for the CPD. On 2523's Beat.
3:31pm - Disturbance. Koz Park. Group of ten to 15 males drinking by the playground.
4:27pm - Disturbance. 20XX N Kedvale. The neighbor put his dog in their pool.
4:41pm - Residential alarm. 23XX N Hamlin.
4:52pm - 2523 has a traffic stop at Diversey and Central Park.
4:57pm - Panic alarm. 3732 W Fullerton. At the jewelry store.
5:45pm to 6:30pm - Didn't really pay attention, folks. I'm sorry.
7:30pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.
7:42pm - I'm back.
7:45pm - Municipal ordinance violation. 18XX N Pulaski. Cars being worked on in the alley.
8:34pm - 1) Parker. On 2524's Beat. 2) Gang disturbance. 3100 block of N Monticello. They're all over the block, loitering, throwing up gang signs, drinking, etc.
9:06pm - 1) Disturbance. Kilbourn and Wrightwood. Group of males harassing people. 2) Missing person report. 43XX W Drummond. The 11 year old daughter never came home from summer school.
9:13pm - 2523 has a traffic stop at 36XX W Armitage.
10:04pm - 1) The 43XX Drummond is bona fide. 16 year old Hispanic girl missing. 2) Shots Fired. McLean and Lawndale. A black 4-door car with people in it fired at least seven shots, and then fled south on Lawndale towards Armitage.
10:35pm - Person w/ a gun. Lawndale and McLean. Male Black with a black tanktop and khaki shorts has a shiny black gun. He's headed towards Dickens with another male.
10:36pm - Suspicious person. 26XX N Monticello. Three males in the alley by the garage.
11:34pm - Shots Fired. Milwaukee and Lawndale. Rapid gunfire heard.
12:00am - I'm going to go for the night. I'll be back in the morning with more crime. Have a good night, everyone, and sleep well!
