Good morning, everyone, it's 9am. It's a beautiful sunny morning with temps in the mid 60s. It's going to get into the mid 70s with sunshine. I'm back from my blog vacation two days early, and I'll tell you why. Because of the Puerto Rican Fest and related events that will be taking place on Saturday, I've decided to monitor the regular calls in 14 today and focus on the Puerto Rican Fest-related calls and events on Saturday. I will not be blogging tomorrow, though, as it is my 19th birthday, and I'll be celebrating it with some family. Today, I will monitor 14 from now until 9:30am, and then again from 9:45 until 10:15, then again from 10:30 until 5pm, and then again from 7:20 until 9:55, and finally from 11pm to midnight. Last week and this past weekend were some of the best days of my entire life. I had so much fun being with my family and friends and just enjoying life. Here's crime for portions of today.
9:18am - Beat car 1422 is ordering the graffiti blasters for 23XX W Palmer. Blue paint on wood.
9:30am - I'm going to go until 9:45. I'll be back.
9:45am - I'm back, until 10:15.
10:15am - And I'm gone again. I'll be back at 10:30.
10:30am - I'm back again. Also, Beat 1465Adam is doing a CTA check at the California Blue Line station.
10:37am to 10:48am - I'm sure I missed a couple of calls, as my radio somehow turned off.
10:56am - A unit is doing something at Diversey and California.
11:06am - Beat 1461Boy is doing a CTA check at the Logan Square Blue Line station.
11:21am - Beat car 1433 is on a station assignment for the Desk, heading to Rockwell and Fullerton.
11:27am - 1422 is doing a CTA check at the Western Blue Line station.
11:38am - Alarm. 21XX N Damen.
11:43am - Traffic accident. North and Marshfield. Car hit a pole.
11:46am - Information for the CPD. On 1413's Beat.
11:52am - Residential alarm. 18XX W Cortland.
11:59am - Gang disturbance. Spaulding and Belmont. MLDs riding around in a blue Honda 4-door.
12:08pm - Theft. 3000 W Lyndale. Male White, ponytail, gray shirt and blue jeans, just stole some sort of chain.
12:16pm - Burglar alarm. 1800 N Western.
12:26pm - Beat 1461Adam is doing a Public Violence Mission.
12:28pm - Disturbance with an aggressive panhandler on 1432's Beat.
12:29pm - Holding the offender. 2656 N Elston. At the Target. Shoplifter.
12:58pm - Disturbance. North/Damen/Milwaukee Ave. Elderly female panhandler.
1:06pm - 1) Residential alarm. 27XX N Kimball. 2) Beat 2561Eddie is giving a flash on a man who has a warrant that just ran from them at Pulaski and North Ave. His name is Carlos Rivera, he's 5'7, 160 lbs and has a birthdate of 11-July-88. Today, he's wearing a white t-shirt and blue jean shorts. He has either a ponytail or an afro.
1:16pm - Suspicious person. 17XX N Richmond. Male Black, green jacket and blue jeans knocked on the caller's door, claiming that he works for ComEd, but he didn't show any I.D. Went west on Wabansia towards Sacramento.
1:20pm - Commercial alarm. 2725 W Fullerton. At the ATM kiosk door.
1:21pm - Disturbance. 19XX W Fullerton. Three male teens standing by the dumpster and they've been there all morning. Caller wants them to move along.
1:22pm - Prostitution. 29XX N Milwaukee Ave. Female Hispanic, jeans, white flip fops and a white hoodie with black hair in a ponytail is soliciting in front.
1:23pm - 1) Beat car 1434 is doing a Community Concern at Churchill Field. 2) They're calling again on 17XX Richmond. 3) Disturbance. 19XX N Mozart. Four males drinking in the alley.
1:29pm - Both 1700 Richmond calls are coded.
2:01pm - Battery in progress. North and California. Couple of calls for females fighting with bats.
2:04pm - A slow down is being given on the 2:01pm job. 1422 doesn't see anything.
2:21pm - Fire. Logan and Elston. Smoke from the gym parking lot. Might be a car.
2:36pm - Traffic accident. Hoyne and Armitage. Parties aren't exchanging information.
2:41pm - Person wanted. Wellington and Sawyer. Under RD number HV299712. From a battery case.
2:51pm - Beat car 1423 is dispatched to a job at 18XX N Spaulding that goes over their PDT.
2:53pm - Disturbance. 2451 N Milwaukee Ave. Two employees having a dispute.
2:54pm - 1422 is giving 1423 a disregard from the 2:51pm thing. She's got it all figured out.
2:57pm - Beat car 1411 is asking for a call back on the 2:41pm job.
2:58pm - Voice mail on 1411's call back. Coded 19P.
2:59pm - Disturbance. Milwaukee and Central Park. Six males harassing pedestrians. They're in black and white tanktops and in blue and red shorts.
3:01pm - Person w/ a gun. 19XX N Mozart. Male Hispanic with a red shirt and red shorts has a gun in his hand. Someone also just ran into the gangway at this location.
3:02pm - Dispatch is getting a ticket of a gang disturbance right at the 3:01pm job, at Cortland and Mozart. Male Black, black shirt and red shorts is yelling gang slogans.
3:03pm - 1423 is saying that the guy with the gun from the 3:01pm job is between Francisco and Mozart, and he just ducked in the gangway at right about 1906 or 1908 on Mozart. They want a unit to check out the liquor store up the street on Mozart at Armitage. The offender's with a male Black.
3:04pm - Narcotics. 28XX N Sawyer.
3:06pm - 1421 is saying that the possibly ducked into 1910 on Mozart, and one of the offenders lives there.
3:10pm - Gang disturbance. 32XX W George. Gang member standing in front is recruiting people into joining a gang and is causing a problem. He's got two small kids with him. The owner of the building is trying to show someone an apartment, too.
3:12pm - The 19XX Mozart job is being coded 19P for now. They didn't find anything.
3:16pm - Battery. Bernard and Barry. 13 year old battered by an adult.
3:36pm - The 3:16pm job is a 19P per 1411. Just a verbal altercation.
3:37pm - 1411 gets a job on their PDT.
3:48pm - They're calling back on the 12:58pm job.
3:55pm - Information for the CPD. 29XX N Sawyer. Male Hispanic with a black t-shirt is recruiting a kid to sell drugs.
4:05pm - Burglar alarm. 16XX N Troy.
4:10pm - Holding the offender. 2140 N Elston. Two theft offenders are refusing to give back the things they stole from the store.
4:14pm - Parker. 2943 N Milwaukee Ave. White Honda minivan in the loading zone in front of the furniture store.
4:15pm - Beat car 1413 has a handwaver at logan elston.
4:35pm - Battery in progress. 2700 W Logan Blvd. Group of gangbangers fighting.
4:37pm - A slow down is being given on the 4:35pm job.
4:47pm - Narcotics. On 1422's Beat.
4:48pm - 1422 has a traffic stop at 16XX N Sawyer.
5:00pm - I'm going to go until 7:20. I'll be back then.
7:20pm - And I'm back.
7:39pm - Battery in progress. north and richmond. Two females fighting with baseball bats.
8:01pm - Some sort of call around schubert kimball, possibly a disturbance, near Unity Park.
8:24pm - Beat car 1412 has a street stop at george sawyer.
8:48pm - Gang disturbance. On 1411's Beat.
8:51pm - Criminal damage. diversey california. CTA bus #1632 just had its windshield busted out.
9:09pm - Gang or Tac unit in 14 requested for a gang disturbance.
9:18pm - Loud music disturbance. diversey central park. Church service is too loud.
9:20pm - A unit is doing a CTA check at the California Blue Line station.
9:37pm - Theft. 25XX N Troy.
9:40pm - Suspicious person. logan western. Male Black with a dark hat is lurking around the storage unit building.
9:47pm - Parker. logan talman. Car in the tow zone after 9pm.

What's the interest in PR fest? Are you of puerto rican decent Timmy?
Welcome back, Timmy! D. Johnson, I am speaking for myself here, but my guess is this...Timmy's interest likely has to do with the fact that crime has spiked at large city events such as the Taste of Chicago and other neighborhood celebrations. The Puerto Rican fest is no exception to that pattern of behavior.
What's up with the house at 3100 N.Monticello? Is it some kind of museum? They have all kinds of junk everywhere.
The Taste is just a ghetto savage fair. A time for them to come downtown to loot and pillage. I'll never venture into the city until the riff raff is gone.

Just curious if you you gave the St. Patrick Day's parade the same attention. There is just as much crime there.
Why do they still have the Puerto Rican fest in Humbolt park? The yuppies have taken over that area. Thus, let them have their fest in Schiller park or somewhere else they all live now.
