Burglar Alarm On Wolcott

Good morning, everyone, it's 9am. Today, I'm monitoring 14 for everyone. I figured I would on this bitterly cold Thursday since I have yet another snow day from school today, and I have another one tomorrow (schools may reopen, but school bus service is suspended until Monday). These snow days are the last ones CPS has had since 1999, 12 years ago. And because I was only 6 years old at the time, I don't remember it. Anyway, tomorrow, I will be monitoring the Near South Side community, and then the West Garfield Park neighborhood this weekend. I have an event on Saturday morning to go to, so I will begin monitoring at 2pm and doing it until midnight, then Sunday, I'll monitor it from 8am-2pm. I'm not monitoring 25 again until Monday. So, here's crime on this bitterly cold day.

10:06am - Burglar alarm. 1617 N Wolcott.

10:08am - Arson report? 2435 N St. Louis. A car is sitting in the middle of the street after being on fire at 3 this morning.

10:21am - The 10:08am car needs to be towed, immediately. The tow is being ordered up by Dispatch as we speak.

10:30am - Beat 1484 is doing foot patrol on Milwaukee from Logan Boulevard to Central Park. Event number is 05435.

10:37am - Disturbance. 2248 N Western. Guy fixing cars is blocking traffic.

10:47am - Traffic accident. Fullerton and California.

11:12am - Burglar alarm. 3236 W Fullerton.

11:15am - Hold-up alarm. 1639 N Milwaukee. At the T-Moblie.

11:18am - A disregard is being given on the 11:15am job by Beat 1486.

11:40am - 1) An RD number is being pulled from an accident that occurred at 3008 N Davlin by Beat 1402. It's HT145968 with the event number of 06764. 2) Beat car 1411 is doing a park check at skate @ Logan and Western. Event number is 06776.

12:15pm - Disturbance w/ a mental. Armitage and Milwaukee. Male White in his 50s in a gray leather jacket is either drunk or high.

12:23pm - Burglar report. 3107 W Cortland.

12:37pm - The 12:23pm job is now an "assault in progress". Some man is at the caller's door, trying to kick it in.

12:40pm - A disregard is being given on the 12:23/12:37pm jobs.

12:41pm - Animal abuse. 3138 N Spaulding. Puppies left on the back porch.

1:08pm - Suspicious person. On the 10 sector in 14. Tac unit requested to check it out.

1:24pm - Just so all you CAPS people on Beat 1412 know, your meeting that was supposed to be held is canceled for tonight. It will be rescheduled.

1:25pm - Some job at 1704 W North Ave.

1:32pm - Beat 1463Charlie asks for a gang suppression event number on the 10 sector. It's 08968.

1:54pm - Disturbance. California and Armitage. At the BP gas station, there's a dispute with the cashier.

1:56pm - 1) Burglar alarm. 2500 N Milwaukee. 2) Parker. Damen and Churchill. Three cars parked right at the CTA bus stop, and the buses are alighting or departing passengers because of this.

2:15pm - Assault. 2451 N Maplewood. A man threatened to bust out the caller's car windows.

2:32pm - Check the well being. 1952 N Humboldt. Commander Ruiz from the 10th District wants an officer to check on a 73 yr old man named Alvarez. The officer who is going must report back to Beat 1407, and OEMC, about this.

2:55pm - The responding officer to the 2:32pm job says that the man is fine and that he reported it to 1407.

3:15pm - Information for the police. 1658 N Milwaukee. At UPS. Caller made a burglar report earlier but has additional information for CPD.

3:38pm - Criminal damage. 2805 N Campbell. Caller's car window was broken out, thinks it was done before the epic blizzard we got.

4:05 to 4:15pm - There were like two calls in the area.

4:23pm - Traffic accident. 1753 N Mozart.

4:57pm - Burglar alarm. 3535 W McLean.

5:00pm - Disturbance. Drake and Cortland. Two females in a car blocking traffic.

5:25pm - Disturbance. 2420 N Kedzie. Neighbor dispute.

5:28pm - Assault in progress. 3217 W Diversey. Neighbor is threatening the caller by throwing snow and water on their front door.

5:44pm - DUI driver. Fullerton and Kimball. Brown van with a firefighter plate of 597707 is heading towards Belden on Kimball after nearly hitting several cars.

5:45pm - Assault in progress. 2825 N Campbell. Intoxicated tenant threatening to kill the landlord, and is in front causing a scene.

5:49pm - Narcotics. 2800 block of N Campbell. Six to seven men loitering, selling.

6:32pm - Missing person report. 2142 N Spaulding. 14 yr old daughter took off.

6:45pm - Parker. 2243 N Hoyne.

6:48pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.

7:05pm - I'm back. By the way, I heard this call on Zone 12, but there's an accident at George and Pulaski.

7:17pm - Gang disturbance. Kimball and Wabansia. 20 teens on the corner, loitering, flashing gang signs and looking for trouble.

7:45pm - Battery in progress. Cortland and Francisco. Gangbangers beating up on a cab driver as a result of an accident.

7:47pm - A slow down is being given on the 7:45pm job.

8:01pm - Theft in progress. Wabansia and Milwaukee. In Yellow Cab #4807, there's a cab fare dispute going on. The customer won't pay, but also, the cabbie supposedly refuses to take a credit card.

8:15pm - Check the well being. 2108 N Sawyer. Elderly neighbor hasn't been seen in a week, and the caller saw the man's blanket on his floor in his apartment.

8:17pm - Traffic accident. Kedzie and Belmont. Injures, pregnant female is involved.

8:21pm - Missing person report. 1628 N Bell. Caller was walking with her 74 yr old father at North and Oakely when she lost him. His name is Fernando. He is a male Asian with a gray leather coat, rubber boots and brown pants.

8:40pm - Suspicious vehicle. 2846 N Fransisco. Two men got out of a car and left it there, in the middle of the street.

8:44pm - Some call in the area.

9:14pm - Burglar alarm. 2004 N Western. At the bank.

9:38pm - Disturbance. Armitage and Damen.

9:53pm - Traffic accident. Western and the Kennedy Expressway.

9:55pm - The 9:53pm job is also coming in as Webster and the Kennedy.

10:02pm - Burglar alarm. 1637 N Winchester.

10:04pm - Criminal damage. Wabansia and Campbell. Male Hispanic, 5'7, 220 lbs, black hair, blue puffy vest, dark hoodie and pants got into a car containing a possible plate of "BLN" after tagging the building with the blue siding on the SE corner.

10:59pm - Gang disturbance. 27X2 N Francisco. They're arguing with a woman over parking space.

11:30pm - Battery in progress. 1600 N Artesian. People fighting.

11:32pm - The 11:30pm job is coming in as a "person calling for help" now.

11:34pm - A disregard is being given on the 11:30/11:32pm jobs. Contact cards will be done, though.

11:35pm - Beat car 1422 asks for an event number for a robbery mission on their Beat. It's 19211.

11:53pm - Suspicious vehicle. 1701 N Washtenaw.
