Backlogs in 25? Why don't the supervisors really check to see what all their officers are doing? I've always noticed they seem to have lots of time to kick back at the Shell station drinking coffee while reading newspapers. Or you'll hear them go down on supposed street or traffic stops when the radio tries to give them a job.
The favorite way a CPD officer avoids a call? "Unavoidable traffic stop, squad".
How about having a march on the 25th district station? We could voice our displeasure with them and their service. Why should they be allowed to retire and 55 with full medical benefits? Make them work til 67 like everybody else has to.
I have come to the conclusion that all of you are a bunch of wanna be cops and you have nothing better to do than criticize! Why didn't all of you idiots that complain so much, apply and go be the police! Nice to sit in your chair, listen to the scanner and complain! Get a life!
Uh, the city hasn't hired in years or had a test. And now to be politically correct, they only hire women and minorities.
If the police do one of their street stops on you, demand their badge numbers. Complain to IPRA. 311 will give you the number.
Anonymous 3:39, I do agree that the supervisors should check to see what they're doing, but they really do go down on a lot of traffic/street stops (see those quite often around here).
Anonymous 8:26, you sound jealous. Just saying. And 67 ain't the retiring age. 65 is. Also, what displeasure? I, and I'm sure I speak for at least some, sure don't have that many displeasures with them for a march.
Anonymous 6:27, I definitely agree.
