Unavoidable Traffic Stop @ Hamlin and Diversey

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 3:14pm. Last night was good, especially since besides the egg throwing (particular in 14 and 17), Halloween was on the safe side, which I'm really glad to know. The only real reports of violence were . Anyway, today is the 1st of November, which means a lot. One, the holiday season is starting. Veteran's Day is next Thursday, followed by Thanksgiving and the Prep Bowl in three weeks from now. And, Christmas isn't that far off, either :). So, I recommend that you all start that holiday shopping sometime this month. Also, tomorrow is Election Day. Don't forget to go out and vote! Here's crime for this afternoon and evening.

3:22pm - Beat car 2523 has an unavoidable traffic stop at Hamlin and Diversey.

3:30pm - Burglary in progress. 2638 N Hamlin.

3:35pm - A disregard is being given on the burglary.

5:14pm - Suspicious person. 3753 W George. Male White, black cap, is going in and out of the building, and does not live there.

5:22pm - 2523 is on George now, asking for a call back.

6:41pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back.

8:05pm - I'm finally back. I had some other stuff to do.

8:23pm - Check the well being. 4028 W Oakdale.

9:00pm - I have to go. I'll be back tomorrow evening with live police-scanning, and throughout the day with the elections. Don't forget to send me your reports for tomorrow, please! I'd like to know the Ward number/precinct, time and a basic summary of what happened at your voting place. Thank you, and goodnight!

Hey Timmy do you know anything about drug crimes and sentences? Im asking this cause a couple weeks ago as i was coming from work heading home i saw a around four bangers being searched for drugs and they found two grams of cocaine on one and one gram of heroin i know this cause i asked the cop what happen and hes like they were drug dealng. But the two kids that got caugth looked really young 10yrs old or younger do they actually get sent to jail or is it a slap on the wrist the other three were oder 17yrs+ around there, they didnt have nothing but one had a warrant i think.

I'm thinking that maybe that those two kids were probably sent to juvy, and maybe will get sentenced to at least a year or two of jail, or most likely, they'll be sentenced to community service. It would seem to me it's more of a slap on the wrist than anything.

Don't let them fool you. These so-called unavoidable traffic stops are ways cops get out of doing jobs. They claim these to avoid nasty paper jobs. Thus putting the work on other cops.

With kids that young, they have very strict protocol to follow. They have to transport to the station, call the parents, read miranda rights, take steps to make sure that everything goes by the book and then notify the ASA (Assistant state's Attorney) and hope for Felony charges to be approved. The ASA will determine of they get treated as Juveniles or adults.

Depending on their prior history, they could go to juvy and a petition for delinquency will be filed or they can get sent home with their parents to follow through with police mandated community treatment. That would be more of a station adjustment scenario.

IF they get sent to Juvenile Court on a delinquency petition, they will have the chance to plead as everyone else gets teh chance to do and they will either go for trial or get offered a plea arrangement whereby they get so much jail time and so much probation with treatment and community service, or simply just probation with treatment and community service. At the end, if they stay clean until they turn 18, they can have their record expunged or sealed.

If they get in trouble again, this chance is gone. If they get their records sealed or expunged and then get in trouble again, the court can unseal or unexpunge their records.

Anonymous 11:53, I seriously doubt the cops on 2523 would do that. I've met them both, and they are committed to their job.

LSR, I figured the requirements for the CPD to follow regarding young kids was something like that.

What's with all of you cop haters lately? For some reason, you're all coming out of the woodwork.

The cops haven't done their job since they cried about their raise. So this is the way they pout. They dog it..

your ignorance is truly impressive.

I post their "shit" so other people know what's being said about our cops. There are some folks here who think CPD is liked by everyone, and I'd like to prove to them that isn't the case.
