Good evening, everyone, it's 7:05pm. I've had a good day, but it's time to blog. It's been cold out today, with temps only getting into the mid 40s, and last night was freezing. Anyway, it's time to change the clocks back. We go back 1 hour, and that is effective beginning 2am tomorrow morning. This means the sun will be coming up a bit earlier for a few weeks, but it'll be getting dark before 5pm. Oh well. It's all a part of winter coming next month. Here's crime for this evening.
7:39pm - Burglar alarm. 2343 N Lawndale.
9:59pm - Assault in progress. 2800 block of N Central Park. Male Hispanic, 50s, intoxicated is threatening ramdom people with a broken beer bottle as he walks up and down the block.
10:14pm - 1) Loud music disturbance. 3700 W Shakespeare. 2) Parker. 4108 W Dickens. Permits.
10:50pm - Disturbance. 2709 N Monticello.
11:30pm - Person w/ a gun. Armitage and Keystone. In the north alley of Armitage, east of Keystone, there's a male Hispanic in a black sweater and blue jeans, and he's got a gun in his hand.
11:31pm - A slow down is given on the 11:30pm job.
11:32pm - 1) Battery. 4049 W Nelson. Intoxicated female hit the caller. 2) Person w/ a gun. Karlov and Nelson. Male in a black hoodie is blocking the street, and he's apparently got a gun.
11:35pm - No gun involved on Nelson. It's going to be coded. As a matter of fact, it's most likely related to the 4049 Nelson job.
11:45pm - Suspicious vehicle. 2200 block of N Monticello. Two males in an older white Compact were slowly going down the block a few times, then they pulled over the most recent time.
11:50pm - I've got word of a vicious robbery that occurred at Fullerton and Kedzie around 8pm this evening. Read all about it on Chicago News Report.
11:52pm - 1) Loud music disturbance. 3720 W Palmer. 2) Traffic accident. 2126 N Hamlin. No injuries.

Wow, it seems Logan square is still the craphole I remember from the 70's. Only that the days of white kids being tough hve been replaced by the Spainish. Where have all the tough white kids gone? Remember the Jousters, Royals and Gaylords? These guys are turning over in their graves on how you've all become sissies.
Ah, I see the area's still plagued with crime. As long as you have non-working Link card holders moving in, the area will decline.
Anonymous 7:14, I have to say, I'm actually a bit offended by your comment. That's because my family is on the Link card (but we're really trying our best to not need it anymore). Having said that, not everyone on the Link is a bad person. I know I'm not. Believe it or not, but there are still some good poor people living in our community.
Anonymous 6:41, to answer questions...
1) They've all moved either north or east, or some, west.
2) The Royals were kicked out of this neighborhood by the Cobras.
3) The Gaylords are no longer an active gang.
And, who's the sissies you're referring to? Surely not us community members, because we're not into this gang crap in the first place.
We've all become sissies? Owning property and trying to clean it up from white/black/brown gangbangers who have no education or work ethic makes us sissies? man you have your priorities all screwed up. Real men get educated, graduate from college and work a career. The ones that hang out on the streets in gangs, drop out of school and "try to prove" toughness are sissies who get left in the dust by life. Society will leave them behind. Education is the key. These gangbangers can hardly read or write.
Roadwolf, exactly! I agree 100%! I hardly think any of us are sissies. Maybe we're just trying to live a good life, and trying to live in a safe to decent neighborhood, which obviously most of Logan Square and parts of Avondale aren't right now. I agree that real men get educated, graduate (or at least go to) college, and work for a living. If anything, the sissies are these thugs fighting in the streets, shooting, "kickin it", and what not. Yes, they'll get left behind by society, and I can assure you they will regret it.
Why would anyone buy one of those tar paper sided houses in that area? Way too much section 8. Well, I guess its good to see there's some regular folks taking advantage of the welfare program.(long abused by illegals and ghetto savages) Timmy did you get the free HP computer which was available on the public aid program?
Anonymous 11:22, the regular folks who do take advantage of it, don't want to, but have to, because they're poor. Like my family. Trust me, we don't want to be on government assistance. But until the economy gets better, we have no choice. But, also, we're on government assistance because of my autism. No, I did not get a free HP computer. They didn't even tell us about that. Oh well.
