Good morning, everyone, it's 9:00am. It's a pretty cold and cloudy early October day. It's only about 49 or 50 degrees right now. But it's supposed to warm up to near 60, with the sun coming out. Anyway, on this Saturday, from 12:30-2:00pm, a clean-up is being done on Ridgeway, from Milwaukee to Schubert. If you are interested and would like know some information, such as where we will meet, please email me. That's all about I have to say for now, so here is crime for this morning and afternoon.
9:02am - Parker. On 2524's Beat.
9:51am - Criminal damage. Barry and Central Park. Two males in black hoodies just tagged a house. They're walking towards Milwaukee on Central Park.
11:04am - Battery. 2615 N Avers. Two males just finished fighting.
11:51am - Domestic disturbance. 2614 N Harding.
12:00pm - The 11:04am job is being called in again, but this time as an "Assault in progress". Group of gangbangers are about to fight because of the earlier incident.
12:04pm - A slow down is being given on the 12pm job.
12:33pm - Car alarm. Atlgeld and Tripp.
1:10pm - Parker. 2755 N Lawndale.
1:23pm - Fire. 4028 W George. Neighbor is setting something on fire in the rear.
3:22pm - Burglary in progress. 3018 N Pulaski. Male Black, 5'8, 190 lbs, gray hoodie and khaki pants, is breaking into the back of the location.
4:01pm - EMS run. Ridgeway and Milwaukee. Male down on the sidewalk, across the street from Bristol Liquors.
4:34pm - Burglar alarm. 3651 W Schubert. At Monroe school. Annex building, east motion.
5:00pm - The following information is coming over from Area 5 detectives to the 25th District officers: There is a high probability of a shooting around 6pm tonight in the Maniac Latin Disciples sections of Karlov and Palmer, Keystone and Palmer, Kenneth and Belden, Wellington and Parkside, George and Monitor or Diversey and Melvina. The shooting may happen because of an internal conflict between the MLDs. The "governor" of the MLD section of Dickens and Moblie got into with some other high-ranking MLD on Friday in a night club. This shooting would be retaliation for that argument/fight. Officers are advised to keep their eyes and ears open, and to use caution. I'm putting this out there because the MLD sections of Karlov and Palmer and Keystone and Palmer are in the coverage area, on Beat 2525.
5:07pm - Traffic accident. 1609 N Avers.
7:04pm - I have to go eat, and with that, I'm gone for the night. See you tomorrow. Have a good night.

Hey Timmy what do you think about Belmont and Central Park is it safe im planning on renting a apartment by there what do you think about that area. I never lived in Logan Square i heard its a bad and good area.
1.Belmont and Central Park
2.Dickens and Spaulding
3.28th and Tripp
4.33rd and Morgan
5.63rd and Hermitage
These are the placest im looking into because theres aparments for sale any idea how safe they are greatly appreciated.
Hey George,
From the experiences I have had with Belmont and Central Park, it's safer than somewhere like 63 and Hermitage or 28 and Tripp. I don't know really what makes 63 and Hermitage unsafe, but I do know that 28 and Tripp is pretty unsafe because of a gang problem in that area. I would say 33 and Morgan, and Dickens and Spaulding would be the two safest to move to.
About Belmont and Central Park, I say it's unsafe because there are Latin Kings who "control" Belmont from Ridgeway to Central Park. There have been tons of shootings and gang fights because of this. Last Halloween, we had a pregnant woman to get shot in the 3100 block of N. Monticello, because of the LKs. But, it would probably be much safer than moving to say, 63 and Hermitage, or 28 and Tripp.
If you want, I can listen to those areas for you for different time periods over the next few weeks. I would need your email, though, since I only blog for Avondale and Logan Square on this blog.
While I was out walking my dog, I've noticed activity in that abandoned building at 2922 N. Ridgeway. I think the homeless have broken into it.
Hi George.
I live near Belmont and Central Park and I think it is just fine. I am a 30 year old woman, and I walk home from the train at all times of day and night. There are lots of people in this area who sit on their porches and keep an eye on the street (also making me feel safer).
While there are drunks and punks, if you are not buying or selling drugs, I think you will be just fine. Other nice thing is that the bus goes from Logan Station right to Bel/CenPark, so you can get to and from the train fast. Also much more shopping and food than around Dickens and Spaulding.
Hey Timmy,
I really appreciate all your hard work. Don't listen to those ignorant comments from that idiot in cyberspace. If he leaves any comments for you, please ignore them. It's simply not worth reading them.
Good luck in school and keep the blog going!
Thanks again for all your work.
Hi Timmy,
I noticed some drug selling and consuming activity in front of an apartment building on the corner of Keeler and Melrose. There seems to always be quite a few people "hanging out" in front of that building. I've had to call 311 once or twice because of fighting going on there.
Thanks Timmy yeah i would appreciate it if you got time. I drove already to these placest day and nigth and on foot i noticed gang/drug activity on Dickens and Spaulding, Belmont seemed fined but while walking down to Diversey it felt shady and more activity. On 28th i felt safe really safe alot of people out on 26th street feels good a lot of stores noticed gang graffiti in the alleys but no loitering, 63rd and Hermitage same activity as on Spaulding im guessing people call it unsafe because its West Englewood. 33rd and Morgan seemed fine.
Thanks Anonymous i walked around there and i felt safe didnt see loitering but yeah i lived in Humboldt Park before 5yrs ago and theres a lot of drug/gang activity but if you leave them alone they wont mess with you. But i did see a good amount of drug/gang activity going on Diversey saw ten drug deals go on while i was waiting for the ligth no lie yes ten.
My email chicagonative43@yahoo.com
Anonymous 11:56, did you call it in to 911? If not, please call it in next time. And, if you are a part of the local block club over here, or would like to be a part of it, please call me also when there's activity.
Anonymous 7:20, I'm glad you feel safe over there. And I mean that sincerely. For some reason, I feel the complete opposite when I go through there, more or less in the winter time. It's probably just me because of the incidents that have happened to me at that intersection, but it doesn't feel safe. But you are right about the Belmont bus, and there being more food and shopping opportunities in the area.
Hey anonymous 9:46, thanks for the comment. About those comments, I will try my very best to ignore them, but I do have to admit, they did make me angry and upset. I usually don't get like that over a lot of comments, but it's like "ouch" when someone says all of those hurtful things to you like that idiot did. I've been a victim of verbal abuse just about all my life, and especially with me trying to find my place in this world right now, I don't need them. But I am going to try to ignore them, and not read them.
Hi anonymous 2:20. Thanks for dropping by. Unfortunately, Keeler and Melrose is just outside of my coverage area. West of Pulaski, I only cover up to Belmont. But nevertheless, keep reporting the activity and keep an eye on it. If you get the time, I would even bring up at 1731's CAPS meeting. That meeting will be on the 12th, next Tuesday, at 7pm. It will be held at Kilbourn Park Fieldhouse, located at Cornelia and Kilbourn.
Hey George, no problem. I don't have a lot of time at all, especially now that I just started a new part-time job (which I'm considering on quitting from already), but I can certainly see if I can fit this into my schedule somehow. I'm glad you checked out the areas already, so you know what they're like when you move there. Yeah, on Diversey, there is a lot of shady activity, and I know this for sure because I live almost right off of Diversey. I'm a bit surprised about Dickens and Spaulding, and 28th. I thought the gang and drug activity would be spotted on 28th instead of Dickens. As for 63 and Hermitage, I'm not surprised with it being like Dickens and Spaulding. There's a lot of problems in that area, and I've seen them first hand. I have had to go through 63 and Hermitage to get to somewhere else, and I saw people openly doing drugs, hanging out on the corners, etc. And, about the drug dealing on Diversey, where was this at? I'm asking because I'm shocked to hear that you saw ten drug sales going on on Diversey.
Yeah sounds kooo but only if you got time to listen into those beats with your scanner, im planning on buying one there pretty kooo to have. The drug deals happen on Diversey on Central Park at first it was five yuppies they got off a cab and from what i heard them say was "You still got that black stuff" dealer said yes he made 1,000 i seen it because i was six seven feet away then a drug addict purchased some crack cocaine and four other young kids came and purchased some weed. All this happen pretty quick no more than twenty to thirty seconds. There were five dealers four latinos one black 15-18yrs and there was like five other guys in the alley im guessing lookouts.
