FINAL POST OF SCHOOL OBSERVATIONS:
Hi, everyone, things were good this week.
June 8: On Monday, my class and I went on our final field trip of the year, to the Chicago History Museum (formerly known as the historical society). It was a nice trip. After the trip, we ate and got back on the bus to school.
June 9: On Tuesday, it was a quiet yet interesting day. I saw no incidents of goofing off but alot of interesting things (discussions and etc.) were going on in both my regular classes and my program.
June 10: My last day of school (until summer school) has came! On Wednesday, things were good. Everyone was just hanging around, doing nothing for the most part. I also saw people wishing each other a happy summer, giving hugs, etc. In other news, my class threw a birthday party for me (my birthday is on the 14th of this month). They sanged to me, wished me a happy birthday and other nice things. It's been a pleasure being here at Sullivan for the school year. I've met a lot of nice people and have made lots of friends along the way. I will always remember this school year.

My observations on school
Hi, everyone, things were this week.
May 11: On Monday, I returned back to the regular routine. Today was pretty good. I only saw a couple of arguments and people goofing off.
May 12: On Tuesday, before our game, I went to two of my classes. While in school, I only saw a couple incidents of goofing off. In other news, we played a baseball game against Walter Payton High School. We lost that game. Score was 4 (us) to 8 (Walter Payton).
May 13: Wednesday was a regular day. Anyway, I saw people just goofing around. The usual. In other news, a few of my classmates and I went to the Devon market to look for some items.
May 14: On Thursday, my class and I went on a field trip to Lincoln Park Zoo. It was a good trip.
May 15: Friday was also a regular day. Anyhow, there was an assembly today which featured a singer from South Africa. He was important enough to get three TV cameras at our school. I'm told one of the cameras was from WLS-TV 7. Also, there was only just some people goofing off and stuff. Whatever. In other news, my class and I threw a party for a student of ours who is graduating from the school and the program. It was a little emotional, to me anyway.

My observations on school
Hi, everyone , things were good this week.
May 4: On Monday, school was usual. Same old fooling around and stuff, though there was a girl yelling at and fighting with security about a suspension. They were also mentioning the possiblity of her being arrested.
May 5: On Tuesday, it was our opening ceremonies of Special Olympics, which is a marathon of sports which we compete with other Autisic kids/people. It was held at Soldier Field. It was real nice, especially when our school was acknowleged by the entire audience, speakers (at the welcoming speech) and the media. There was a TV crew there, though I'm not sure what station it was. There was rumor that it was NBC 5.
May 6: On Wednesday, it was our first day of Special Olympics. I didn't have anything scheduled for today, but I watched my fellow classmates run and cheered them on. I also cheered on some kids that I didn't even know. It was packed where we were but it seems to me everyone had a good time.
May 7: Thursday: Day 2 of Special Olympics. I got to participate today. I did the 100 meter run. I came in 5th place, but only because of two kids being faster than me and one of my shoes falling off while I ran, but I still kept on running. It was a bit funny to have my shoe fall off. It was great to be a part of Special Olympics today and I'm getting ready for the thrid and final day of it.
May 8: Friday: Day 3 (the final day) of Special Olympics. I did the long standing job. I came in 5th place again. Being at Special Olympics wasn't so great today. Lots of arguing and stuff. I'm also a little glad we're done because I got burned in the sun and my legs hurt a little.

My observations on school
Hi, Craig, things were good this week.
April 27: On Monday, things were good. I only saw people fooling around a couple of times, altough I heard a food fight did break out during the lunch period before mine.
April 28: On Tuesday, my class went to the International Festival Assembly, which was very nice. I enjoyed all of the diversity displayed at the assembly. In other news, I just saw people fooling around a couple of times.
April 29: On Wednesday, things were good (I didn't see even one argument today), but there was widespread panic due to the Swine Flu. I saw kids wearing masks to cover their mouths (a couple even had medical gloves on) and talking about it all day, but in all of this, a girl was arrested. Whatever she was arrested for, she sure didn't like it.
April 30: On Thursday, my class and I went on a field trip to the Garfield Park Conservatory. It was nice. There was alot of beautiful flowers, plants and other stuff.
May 1: On Friday, things were good. I only saw a few people fooling around. Whatever. Everything else was fine.

My observations on school
Hi, everyone, things were good this week.
April 20: On Monday, things were good. School was calm. In other news, I've got a field trip tomorrow to a museum which is at about Woodlawn and 58th streets.
April 21: On Tuesday, my class and I went on a field trip to the museum. It was nice because they had some beautiful stuff (mostly from anicent Egypt).
April 22: On Wednesday, things were pretty boring (well, for me). My class and I went to practice for our baseball game coming up then we went to clean up Loyola Park in honor of Earth Day (I liked doing that though). A few of the kids and myself also went to the Dominick's at Clark and Birchwood (which I found boring, though it's something I've got to do if I want to be independent in the future). By the way, on a good note, it was real quiet in the halls.
April 23: On Thursday, I stayed home due to not feeling too well yesterday. Also, I felt somewhat that since I'm a freshman (and the rest of them have the day off), I should take the day off too. I will return to school tomorrow though.
April 24: On Friday, things were calm. I observed kids going to class and doing work. I did see some fooling around, but nothing unusual. Also, in my lunch period, I saw some kids sing happy birthday to someone, which was nice. We also had a birthday party in my class for a good friend of mine.

My observations on school
Hey, everyone, school has been ok this week.
April 13: School has resumed. Anyway, today, I observed the usual fooling around, disrespect towards teachers and the other stuff. Nothing unusual, maybe except for the two kids running out of the school at about 1:55pm. I didn't report it though because it's not worth it and it's not my problem.
April 14: On Tuesday, we went to the Jane Addams Hull House Muesum. It was pretty nice. We went on a tour then had lunch in the Soup kitchen where State Representative Julie Hamos spoke about someting about organic foods. In other news, before we left, I saw a few kids getting arrested. I heard one was arrested for stealing an administrator's walkie-talkie.
April 15: On Wednesday, things were kind of insane. In the morning, it was the usual fooling around, but by the time noon came, things just started popping off. A fight broke out in the lunchroom right after I left there (I saw the aftermath results though). One of the guys involved in the fight was yelling and screaming in a violent way about what happened (I could barely make out what he was saying, though). It took several security guards to calm him down. I believe he was arrested as well because I saw him being escorted to the police room, unless they just wanted to keep him away from the other kid involved. As I was cleaning my locker out, another kid stormed out of the disciplinary office. He looked if as he was swinging his arms at the disciplinarian teacher. After all of that, things appeared to calm down a bit but there were still arguments and fooling around.
April 16: On Thursday, all hell broke loose. Before my lunch, things were the usual (fooling around, small arguments, etc.), but at my lunch, I saw a fight starting and as it drew out, kids in the lunchroom were getting up and running to watch the fight. I heard someone's face was blooded. I also heard of two other brawls breaking out after the one I saw. More than a dozen kids were arrested. Other general mayhem happened as well in the afternoon. NOTE: The fighting caused the school to end up on the news.
April 17: On Friday, things were ok. Other than people talking about more fighting and a near fight that broke out, there was the usual fooling around and what have you. Glad the weekend is here though.

My observations on school
Hey, everyone, school has been good this week.
March 30: On Monday, things were calm. I only observed some loudness and disrespect. Same old stuff.
March 31: On Tuesday, things were good. Just the usual fooling around. The only thing I didn't like was when a couple of kids in English class (they're in there for Division and I'm in there for 2nd period so it wasn't the 2nd period kids) gave me a nasty look because I was in there extra time, trying to finish up a major test we were given (I'm allowed extra time on tests). The teacher had told them to be quiet when they came in so I could focus and that's why there were mad.
April 1: On Wednesday, we went on a field trip. We went to Navy Pier (we didn't get to ride the rides though). It was nice. It wasn't all fun and games though. We did work. We have tomorrow off because of report card pick-up day.
April 3: Thank goodness that this is the last day of school for a week. Spring break is here! Anyway, I saw several arguments, acting like fools and a fight or two (though I'm told there were many more fights). Other than that, it was a good day. There was a birthday/Spring break party in my class.

My observations on school

March 24: On Tuesday, things were a bit crazy. I witnessed a fight as I walked into the door this morning and several arguments through the day.
March 25: On Wednesday, my class and I went on a field trip to the North Park Village Center, where we planted flowers and dug up some ground. We also dug up ground for the owners so they could plant flowers. It was pretty good.
March 26: On Thursday, things were calm. There were only a couple of arguments and no fights. Just the usual.

My observations on school
Hey, everyone, school has been pretty good this week.
March 16: On Monday, things were ok. I observed several arguments and two fights but nothing major.
March 17: Happy St Patrick's Day everyone! Anyway, I observed more arguments and heard of some fights. Other than that stuff, just the usual school day.
March 18: On Wednesday, school was good for the most part. The only thing I saw that was eventful for the most part was a fight (well, near fight) in my 2nd period class. Two boys had a heated argument over something that happened yesterday then shoves ensued before it was broken up by the teacher and two other boys. Other than that, I only observed the usual arguments and loudness.
March 19: On Thursday, my class and I went on a field trip to Harlem-Irving Plaza. It was nice. I bet some of you folks are happy, since this is our last trip on a mall, at least for the time being.
March 20: On Friday, things were calm. I didn't observe any arguements or fights. Our program was bursting with "excitement" today, but I won't get into it.

March 10: On Tuesday, school was pretty calm. Other than a few arguments, some boys talking about a fight that happened yesterday and one near fight, things were usual. Also, a crew from the Oprah Winfrey show was there to interview a few kids about dating violence. Their interviews are going to be on Oprah's Thursday show. This is kind of exciting to hear since a few of my friends may be on there.

My observations on school

March 3: On Tuesday, we went on a field trip to Golf Mill Mall. We learned how to spend money and order food at the food court(s). Some of the kids also learned how to shop. It was a nice experience.
March 4: On Wednesday, school was average. Just the usual altercations and what have you. Also, my class took a walk around the neighborhood.
March 5: On Thursday, school was nearly the same as Wednesday, with the exception of no neighborhood and a superstar assembly where good students won stuff.

My observations on school
Hi, everyone, this week was average.
February 23: On Monday, things were the same as Friday (February 20). That fight actually happened this time, though.
February 24: On Tuesday, things were hetic, especially around my lunch time. While enroute to a class around 9:45am, I saw several girls arguing, then things were calm again until my lunch. At lunch, I saw a heated argument involving some girls with one girl just yelling at everybody else, then I saw a group of boys/girls gathering around of what may have been an argument. After lunch, I saw a couple more arguments but nothing big.
February 25: On Wednesday, things got wild at about 12:30pm. I had a great day and saw nearly no altercations. In my 2nd period class, we were having a discussion about "Romeo and Juliet" which we're reading right now and people were saying some funny things but they also said things that were more serious and ... just part of the discussion. I even said some things and I think I made some new friends today. However, a melee broke out around 12:30pm. This happened right outside of my gym class. I've got no numbers on how many kids were fighting, but it was pretty intense since several teachers had to break it up. Security and police also broke it up. Other than the brawl, things were actually calm. I'm sure there will be another fight tomorrow, but I will have no insight on it because I'm going on a field trip to the Muesum of Contemporary Photography.
February 26: Thursday was a pretty good day. We went on that field trip to the Muesum of Contemporary Photography. It was nice, except for getting caught in that soaking rain, LOL. Also, at school, the African American Hertiage Assembly was held. I heard it was nice, but I will have to wait and see until I get to see it tomorrow.
February 27: On Friday, things were calm. I only observed here and there altercations. We had an assembly today which was nice. In my class, one of our teachers cooked up very nice food as part of African American Heritage month.

February 27: On Friday, things were calm. I only observed here and there altercations. We had an assembly today which was nice. In my class, one of our teachers cooked up very nice food as part of African American Heritage month.

My observations on school
Hey, everyone, this week has been okay.
Febuary 17: On Tuesday, things were pretty calm. I saw a few regular altercations and some fooling around, but nothing major happened. Also, today, we had a second assembly on school safety. This time, Dr. Artia stated that he got most of the gangbangers out (but of course some are still around). He also said he will still work with the police commander, police officers and staff to continue to keep the school safe. He is also working with the police commander to keep suspended people out of the area of school. The police are emailed pictures of who is suspended every morning and if a suspended students are within 2 blocks from school, they will be arrested for trespassing and most of the crowd of protested to that. In fact, most of the crowd protested to what most of Dr. Artia said. They were not happy. A couple of times, a girl got up and questioned him. Other issues were discussed as well including seeing your consulers about schedules for next year, etc. Tomorrow, I will not be in school due to a doctor's appointment and Thursday, we're going to the Mexican muesum near 18th and Damen.
February 18: I was not in school on Wednesday due to some personal business.
February 19: On Thursday, we went on a field trip to the Mexican muesum near 18th and Damen. It was a very nice experience, then we went to the food court at Lincolnwood Town Mall to grab a bite to eat, then we went back to school and talked about the trip.
February 20: On Friday, things were actually a bit active. I saw a fight almost break out in computer class. Two kids were arguing and a punch was thrown. When the teacher saw it, they stopped. Other than that, there was just general loudness and arguments. Glad the weekend is here since I need to catch up on my sleep.

My observations on school
Hey, everyone, this has been a real short and good week.
February 10: On Tuesday, my class and I went on a field trip to the Swedish muesum at 5211 North Clark. It was a very nice experience. We also walked around Andersonville.
February 11: On Wednesday, things were calm. I observed a few arguments but that's about it. My class had a Valentine's Day party and it was awesome. I'm so glad we have 5 days off, so I'm looking forward to the long weekend. Everyone have a good weekend.

My observations on school
Hello, everyone, this week was pretty good.
February 3: On Tuesday, my class and I went on a field trip to the Nature Muesum. It was a nice experience. In other news, there is a different bell schedule in effect for tomorrow, due to testing.
February 4: On Wednesday, things were a little insane. I saw no fights and few altercations. However, what's a "bit" insane to me is that one of my closet friends in the class suffered from a seizure. I was not around when it happened. Hope he recovers well. Then, as I was coming home from school, my school bus was sitting at an intersection waiting for the light to turn green when we were rear-ended by some lady. She apologized but my driver and aide informed her the police and an ambulance still had to be called. My driver asked for an ambulance because she wanted us to be checked out. Nobody was injured but a bit shaken up. My driver filled out a report then we we continued on the route. By the way, many thanks to the school for calling our parents to let them know about it. It's greatly appriacted.

My observations on school
Hey, everyone, this week has been average.
January 26: On Monday, things were a bit hectic. I'm not talking about the usual noisy kids. I'm talking about things like one of my classmates from the classroom suffering a real bad seizure (it was so bad that they had to go to the hospital). Then there were the schedule changes that got me a bit messed up. I have all the same classes that I had before but in my 7th period class, I had four more students from my classroom join me and another aide, so that class got crowded (it can only fit up to about 10 to 12 people). I'll get used to it after a while.
January 27: On Tuesday, things were rather calm, other then a few times of loudness. In some positive news, kids in my English class were eager to learn about Shakespeare's play of "Romeo and Juliet". Some of them even acted out a scene from the movie. Also, the school store opened up today, but Joe Moore was NOT at the opening. In fact, not a lot of people were (I wasn't due to having a class at the time).
January 28: There are no observations for this day because I was not in school due to personal family business.
January 29: On Thursday, my class and I played a game against Uplift High School. We won 52 to 50. It was a nice game. Some kids from the other classes were also allowed in to watch the game and they cheered us on. Also, today was very calm. I only saw what I think was one altercation. Nothing else happened (other then kids heading to class and talking to each other).
January 30: On Friday, things got a bit crazy in the afternoon. The morning was calm, so I will not comment on that. Anyway, in the afternoon, when I went to Algebra class, a few kids were late to class, so they got written up for it. One kid took it way too seriously and started cussing out the teacher (pretty sure that was added on to the write up). The kid also made mention of my four peers (and myself) in the class in a very uncalled for way. The student complained that he was stuck in the room with "a bunch of Special Ed [a-word] kids,". I found that to be very insulting and let several people know of my anger towards it. Also, a bunch of cops showed up around 2:25pm. Word has it that a fight may have broke out. That would've been the second fight of the day since I heard there was a scuffle in one of the hallways at noon.

But anyway, during my lunch, some guy threw stuff at another guy, which caused the first guy to get mad and argue with the guy who threw the stuff at him, which came to them getting in each other faces, then guy 2 threw milk at guy 1 then the fight broke out. The whole lunchroom stood up and started chanting stuff and looking on in excitement. Security and police quickly broke up the fight. It is believed that both guys were arrested. Other than that, nothing else really happened.

My observations on school
Hello, everyone. I've decided to make a special post just for this week, being finals and all. Here are my observations.
January 20: On Tuesday, things were pretty whacked up with the schedule change for the week but considerbly calm. Other then some loudness and a kid getting arrested for I don't know what (seemed pretty intense since there were about six cops near the kid and one officer yelling at the kid), it was pretty calm.
January 21: I've decided to be positive for today. On Wednesday, when I went to English class to do a test, I observed all of the kids in there doing their test and really paying attention to it. So, good job to them and hope all their finals go well.
January 22: Being positive again. On Thursday, I observed crowds of kids heading to their classes and other kids doing what they were told. Good job to all of those kids!

My observations on school
Hi everyone, this week has been one of the most non-violent (with the exception of Monday) weeks I've seen at Sullivan since September. That's good to see.
January 13: On Tuesday, we went on a field trip to the Muesum of Surgical Science. It was pretty nice. When I got back to school, though, I saw a paddy wagon parked out in front. Probably to break up more fights/take kids in.
January 14: On Wednesday, it was actually quite calm. Other than the loudness (wasn't actually too loud) at times and possibly one fight, it was calm, so that was good to see.
January 15: On Thursday, things were very calm for some reason (good thing though). I observed no altercations/fights whatsoever.
January 16: On Friday, nothing much was going on. There were some altercations and possibly a fight or two (little fights at it), but nothing too major. Glad it's TGIF, though.

My observations on school
Hello everyone, this week wasn't too out of control.
January 6: On Tuesday, we went on a field trip to Lincolnwood Town Center to shop around and learn how to spend money (which I almost missed, due to oversleeping). It was pretty interesting, to me anyway. When I got back to school, we just did circle time then went home.
January 7: There was an assembly regarding school safety.
January 8: On Thursday, things got crazy in the afternoon. In the morning, it was pretty calm (with the exception of an altercation or two), but in the afternoon, things started exploding. Two girls were fighting on the 1st floor hallway as I was returning to my classroom from my 7th period class, but that's not all. One boy almost knocked over some people running up the stairs from a girl. Now here where things really get crazy. One of the aides in my classroom (I will not reveal his name out of privacy/protection) was monitoring the hallways and when the second bell rang, he walked up to a boy still getting stuff out of his locker and told him simply (not in a mean or nice way) to get to class. The boy snapped. He was yelling at the aide, telling him things like "don't tell me what to do!" and other things. As the altercation drew out, it got louder. The boy started to threaten the aide and walk up to him, trying to hit him, screaming profane words and "whatcha gonna do?!" at him while the aide just remained calm and kept telling him to go to class and stop acting out. After a minute or two, security was notified of what was happening and they came. When security tried to restrain this boy and to take him calmly to the police room (since he was going to be arrested for threatening a CPS employee), he started to fight with them, so they called in for police. Two officers came over and when they tried to handcuff the boy, he was still fighting with them, so it took at least eight or nine officers to restrain him. He probably got put in either a cage car or a wagon, because from where I was sitting in my classroom, I saw through the classroom door window that at least four officers were leading him out and the aide was talking to another officer. That sure was crazy, and I only witnessed about 15 seconds of it (the rest of it was either heard from someone else or hearing it from my classroom so nobody complained that I was being nosy or standing there too long).

While going to/coming from/in my classes, I only observed the here and there argument and an incident of disrespect towards a teacher (it got on my nerves, but it wasn't nothing compared to Thursday afternoon). Otherwise, things were calm. In other news, I helped one of my teachers cook the food for movie day in the classroom along with three other students.

I have no clue on many people were involved in the melee, but it was huge. Security couldn't get it under control. Even the police had to call for back up. I'm guessing the fight was stopped after a few minutes. Other then the brawl, I observed a teacher being cussed out by a student, more disrespect to a teacher, arguments, etc. I'll be glad if we go on our field trip tomorrow (may be cancelled to the forecasted blizzard). I'll get to escape from there.

My observations on school today
Hi everyone, school was pretty decent today.
All was calm before 9:21am this morning. When I exited my 2nd period class at 9:21, all was going pretty good, but then some kids started to act real goofy (yelling, screaming) in the hallways. I left the scene before I saw anything else.
During my 3rd period class, some kids were running real late, and when asked why, they disrespected her (as in yelling at). One person flashed gang signs at some others just before the class ended, including myself. To me, it wasn't even worth commenting on.
As I was getting into the lunch line to get my lunch, some kids from the previous lunch period decided to stuck around to take pictures of each other flashing gang signs. They were also being loud and getting in other people's way. Security removed them after a minute or two.
Other then that, nothing else happened (worth saying anyway), so it was a pretty calm day. I wonder what tomorrow will be like (won't be in school because of a field trip, this time to Lincolnwood Town Center).
