Good afternoon, everyone, it's 6pm. Happy Halloween to those who celebrate it (I don't). This evening, I will be monitoring all three Districts that cover our community on a special schedule due to it being Halloween. I will start off with 17, as I'm expecting the least problems from this District (for now at least), then I will cover 14 and then 25. My schedule has changed a bit from what I originally set it for, due to class ending early for me this afternoon :). I'm monitoring 17 from now until 6:10pm, then 14 from 6:10 to 6:20, then 25 from 6:20 on. However, there probably will be on-and-off monitoring of 25 this evening, due to the fact I may monitor other Districts for my other blog, depending on how hectic things get. I'm hoping all of us will have a safe and enjoyable Halloween this evening. Here's crime.

6:16pm - Battery. Webster and Hoyne. Two people wearing costumes hit the caller, headed south on Hoyne.

6:20pm - Now here I am with 25.

6:38pm - Disturbance. 23XX N Monticello. Two males drinking in the alley, hiding the booze behind a dumpster.

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 12:54pm. It's a cloudy afternoon with temps in the mid 40s, and it will stay that way, mainly in thanks to Superstorm Sandy. Yep, even us here in Chicago are feeling some of the effects from the storm, although nothing as bad as the east coast is experiencing. My thoughts and prayers are with all affected by this horrible, horrible storm, and I'm sure all of yours are, too. It's really unfortunate. I'm monitoring 25 from now until my dinner this evening, then I'll be gone for the night. I'll return tomorrow night, and with special coverage for Halloween. We'll see how this year's Halloween goes, as last year wasn't too good, especially here in 25. I've already got my monitoring schedule set up, and this is how it will be: 17 from   6:50pm to 7:00pm, 14 from 7:00pm to 7:10pm and 25 from 7:10pm on. However, the schedule is NOT 100% guaranteed, due to unforeseen circumstances and situations that may arise in other Districts, including 17 and/or 14. For example, if 14 ends up with a shooting during the time of my initial listening, I will monitor that Zone for up to two hours after. I also want to note that my main focus is on, as usual, 25 because things tend to be the most violent on this end of the neighborhood. But we will have to see how things go. I'm monitoring 25 today from now until 11:15am, then again after my dinner. Also, I already have planned out my Halloween schedule for monitoring, but you will see how it will be on the actual night. 6:20am - Fire. 18XX N Harding. Something was smoking, but it looks like CFD went back to quarters.

6:41am - Hold-up alarm. 39XX W Schubert. It's been going off all night.

8:42am - Beat car 2524 has a handwaver at 24XX N Springfield regarding an auto theft report.

Good morning, everyone, it's 10:57am. Sorry I'm late, but I just woke up, LOL. I'm monitoring 17 today for all of you good residents North of Belmont from now until midnight, with a dinner break included. Tomorrow, I will monitor 17 from about 8am or so until this time, then I'll switch to 25 from this time until 1:25pm, and then I'll return with 25 at 8:04. Good morning, everyone, it's 7:08am. It's a mostly cloudy morning, with temps in the lower 60s. It's a warm morning for late October, too, and actually, today's going to get into the upper 70s with sunshine. We'll see how this goes, as this is supposedly the very last warm day we're going to have in the foreseeable future. Tomorrow will be warm too, but then it's supposed to cool down again. Anyway, I'm monitoring 25 this morning from now until about 8:30 or so, then I have to go to my English class. I will come back at about 1:30pm or so and will monitor the radio through some point this evening. I will be going to my Criminal Justice class in the afternoon, but I'll have my microphone headset plugged up to record the calls. 7:46am - Some basic traffic control is being done on this accident. All of the kids on the bus are okay, as well as the driver and the driver of the car.

9:05am - Criminal damage in progress. 3943 W Diversey. Three to four people in an apartment damaging it. This is in that large apartment building on that corner.

9:09am - Beat car 2524 is asking for a call back on Diversey. Dispatch's calling back him now. If there's no call back, it'll be a 19Boy.

9:29am - Beat 2575 is doing some sort of check at Kelvyn Park High School, 4343 W Wrightwood. Event number is 04247.

9:31am - They're calling back on Diversey. Apparently, the manager and another man broke the lock to this person's apartment. It's a 19P.

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 1:40pm. I'm finally back with this blog after a week or two off from posting. I'm really sorry, guys, but I had mid-terms for school and I had to put doing good on those first before anything else. I am finally done with those, and don't really have any big assignments or projects coming up in school for a couple of weeks, so I plan on blogging everyday for the rest of this month. 7:08pm - The 6:57pm job is coded a 16Adam. It was a train motor, which is smoking, and the train has left the station going to the Logan Square station. Although 1421 advises that Dispatch will probably be getting more calls about this situation since the train is still in transit. Also, 1421 is now doing a CTA check there.

Update From Timmy Re: Lack Of Posts This Month

Good afternoon, everyone. Timmy here. I would just like to give an update on a little bit of how I'm doing and the reason why I haven't posted most of this month. I am still alive (LOL) and I am doing well. Now to cut to the chase about why I haven't really been posting. You see, I ran into a few minor problems in my academic life over at Wright College, where I am going to school, this month. Thinking my midterms that we're supposed to take were going to be last week, I was putting all of my energy into studying for those the week before. But then I find out my midterms are this week, tomorrow to be exact, so last week I put my energy into studying and am doing so today. On top of it, I ran into a struggle with my Math class and I had to end up dropping that class. I am the most horrible person at Math and I don't understand it to save my life, and being "academically honest", as Wright wants us to be, I decided to drop that class, as I was failing it anyway, and I did not want to get kicked out at midterms. I was failing this class despite all the times I asked for help and went to tutoring, so it's not I didn't try. With that said, I am a part-time student right now with every intention on going full-time again next semester, which starts in January. Lastly, there have been a couple of days here and there where I listened to the radio for a short period of time, and didn't hear anything pertaining to our area, so I decided just not to blog on those days.

So there is the reason(s) why I have not been posting. I am still in the neighborhood and I still want to work with the community to make it better, but I have to put my academic life first in order to get where I want to be, and that is exactly what I have been doing the last three weeks. With that said, I will start blogging regularly again after tomorrow, once I get these midterms out of my way, coming on-board with 14 on Thursday. I plan on blogging everyday for the remainder of this month after tomorrow, and I do plan on blogging most of November, although I will not be monitoring the last week of November because of finals.

I have missed all of you and hope everyone is doing well. I sincerely apologize for any interruptions of service and for any inconveniences this has had on any of you.

Just so you all know, but I will have very limited monitoring this week and the first half of next week, as Midterms are next week for me at school, and I'm determined to do well on those. Backlog In 17, Traffic Control Re: 5-11 Alarm Fire In Avondale

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 2:32pm. It's a sunny afternoon with temps in the mid 60s, and will remain so today. I'm monitoring 17 until 5:29, then I'll come back after my dinner with 25 until midnight or so. If anyone is wondering, yes, I am aware of that extra 5-11 alarm fire that took place in east Avondale today. That's sad to hear of that factory being burned down like that. I'm being told that the fire started overnight and continued into this morning, and even that the fire IS out at this time, there are still quite a few crews that will have to remain on scene for a while, as the building was at least partially destroyed. Here's the article on the fire. If anyone would like to talk about it, please feel free to mention it here. Also, this is most likely the very last day that the current CPD District boundary and radio assignments will be as they are, due to the changes the Department is supposedly making. As far as I know, 25 will be now the 13th District, but the current 14th and 17th Districts will remain the same, including radio assignments. The new 13 will be on a new frequency, so I will have to find out which one tomorrow. The pther changes they are making are adding three more Zones, merging the current 12th and 13th Districts together, and renumbering the current 24th District to the 21st. If anyone knows anything more on the changes than I do, please comment. Here's crime for this afternoon and evening.

Good morning, everyone, it's 8:45am. It's a sunny morning with temps in the lower 60s, and today will be sunny with temps in the mid 70s. I'm monitoring 25 today until my dinner, then will monitor 17 from 8:30pm to 10:45pm. Anyway, I don't know if you guys know, but this is the last weekend of the existence of the 25th District and the CPD Districts as we know them. Supposedly, with CPD's new plan, some Districts are supposed to be merging together while others change numbers. I have the slightest idea of how the new Zone/radio assignments are going to be, but what I do know is that the 25th District will now be the 13th District, with NO changes to the District boundaries. They might change the Beat boundaries around a bit, but the official District boundaries will remain the same. As far as 14 and 17 go, from what I'm told, there are going to be NO changes made to these Districts. Stay tuned for updates on these new changes. In the meantime, here's crime for today.

9:24am - Vicious animal. Belmont and Ridgeway. Brown/white pit bull running up and down the street, chasing adults and kids on their way to school.

12:30pm - Beat 1778Sam is requesting a unit to do a well-being check at 32XX N Hamlin for a girl named Stephanie Flores, 15 years of age. The school he's at is asking CPD to do a check on her. I guess she hasn't been in school for a while or something. The officer is asking if the unit can make sure she's ok. Beat car 1731 is assigned to head over.

12:45pm - 1778S is giving 1731 a disregard over there, the student just showed up to school.

12:46pm - 1731 has three on the hood at the Hamlin address in the alley, on a stop. Beats 1765 and 1765Adam will head over to assist. Beat car 1732 is also headed over.

Good morning, everyone, it's 6:54am. It's a pretty cold, but sunny, morning with temps in the mid 40s. Today will get into the mid 70s with sunshine. Anyway, sorry for being gone for a couple of days, but I had homework from two of my classes. College life can make you extremely, extremely busy. I missed you guys. Today, I'm monitoring 25 until I have to go to school, then I may come back on one or both of my breaks, and maybe when I come home this evening for a little bit. With that said, here's crime for portions of today.

7:52am - Traffic accident. Belmont and Central Park.

7:55am - Parker. On 2523's Beat.

8:08am - Beat car 2525 is needed to do a crossing at 3800 W Armitage, until 09:00 hours (9am).
